OPEN SHORT FILM COMPETITION – 2018

Essay Competition:

•   Junior–Grade 6, 7 & 8
• Our village post office Between 200 - 250
• 
  
• Secondary–Grade 9,10&11
• Mission of the era of the Sri Lanka Post Between 300 - 350

• Senior–Grade 12&13
• Human connections built through Post Between 500 - 600

Art Competition:

• Junior –Grade 6, 7 & 8
• The Post Office I stepped in

• Secondary –Grade 9,10&11
• Post connects the world

• Senior –Grade 12&13
• The future of the Post I visualize

1. One competitor can forward pieces of work for both essay writing and art competitions. But one competitor can forward only one piece of work for one competition.
2. All essays must be hand written and on foolscap papers.  
3. Each piece of art should be on 18” X 14” white paper using any medium as one likes.
4. An application  recommended by his/her class teacher/teacher in charge of the subject and attested by the principal of school as to prove it is his/ her own creation.  .
5. The piece of work should be his/her own and also certified by the teacher and attested by the principal below the creation or on the reverse of the creation if it is a drawing.
6. All the creations must be enclosed in a suitable cover and “School Competitions of World Post Day- 2018 Primary/ Secondary/ Senior, Essay Writing/ Arts” and name and District/ Province should be mentioned on the top left hand corner of the envelope.
7. All pieces of work should be addressed to Postmaster General, Postal Head Quarters, No. 310, D.R. WijewardhanaMawatha, Colombo 10 
8. Closing Date   25th Of September 2018. 
9. These creations can be sent by post free of charge by handing them over to the nearest post office.
10. Winners for all island First, Second and Third places will be selected and they will be offered financial gifts and certificates at the Main Ceremony to be held on World Post Day.

World Mental Health Day Celebrations

Theme : Young People & Mental Health in a Changing World

• This Competition is open to all schools in the island
• This will be carried out Tri - Lingually
• Senior Debate Team consisting of 04 Members should be sent to represent one school.
• Initial round will be held at the National Institute of Mental Health Premises
• Final round will be held in October in par with the world Mental Health day Commemoration Programmes
• Debate topics for initial round as follows

1. Addictions in young population is influenced / not influenced by use of mass media
2. Mental health Education is important / not important to cope up with the challenges in education
3. Mental health and the prevention of mental illness is affected / not effected by religious & cultural background
4. Employment of both parents positively/negatively affects the personality of youth
