Transfer of former school principal is wrong - Court Order

The Supreme Court ruled that the transfer of the former principal of Nakkawaththa National school is wrong. The Secretary of the Ministry of Education was ordered to pay a compensation of one lakh and a court fee of fifty thousand.

Incident was happened in 2016.

Principal Handbook

Ministry of Education has published the 3rd edition of PRINCIPAL HANDBOOK in 2020. It consists of the guidelines for the School Management.

The first edition was released in 1983 and second was in 1985. The Amended Third edition has been released in 2020

This handbook available in both Sinhala and Tamil Medium. and will be useful for principals as well as for the teachers.

English Exam for Principals (2022)

Applications are called for English Exam for Sri Lanka Principal Service. Exam will be conducted in March 2023 in Colombo

should acquire proficiency in the link language within three (03) years from the date of recruitment
officers, who have completed the Degree/P ost Graduate in English medium, passed English Language (Not as an additional subject) at G.C.E. (A/L) Examination, obtained a Credit Pass or a higher grade for English Language (Not as an additional subject) at G.C.E. (O/L) will be exempted
All other officers should pass this Test.
