Sri Lanka Police Apprentice Officers Recruitment 2026 – 7500 Vacancies Apply Online Before 08.05.2026
Applications are invited for recruitment to the Sri Lanka Police and the Police Special Task Force for the positions of Apprentice Police Constable, Female Police Constable, and Police Constable Driver. Sri Lanka Police Recruitment 2026 – General Requirements
Police Constable / Special Task Force Police Constable
General Requirements
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 24 years of age as at the closing date for submission of applications.
Educational Qualifications
- Option 01: Should have passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, obtaining credit passes in five (05) subjects, including:
- Mathematics
- Science
- Sinhala / Tamil Language
- English Language
- The examination should have been completed in not more than two sittings.
- OR
- Option 02: Should have passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination with credit passes in five (05) subjects, including:
- Mathematics
- Sinhala or Tamil Language
- Completed in not more than two sittings.
- Should have passed two (02) subjects at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in one sitting.
Physical Standards
- Minimum Height: 5 feet 4 inches or above (162.56 cm)
- Minimum Chest Measurement: Not less than 30 inches (76.2 cm)
Civil Status
- Applicants must be unmarried.
Women Police Constable / Special Task Force Women Police Constable
General Requirements
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 24 years of age as at the closing date for submission of applications.
Educational Qualifications
- Option 01: Should have passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, obtaining credit passes in five (05) subjects, including:
- Mathematics
- Science
- Sinhala / Tamil Language
- English Language
- The examination must have been completed in not more than two sittings.
- OR
- Option 02: Should have passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings, with credit passes in five (05) subjects, including:
- Mathematics
- Sinhala or Tamil Language
- Should have passed two (02) subjects at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination in one sitting.
Physical Standard
- Minimum Height: 5 feet 1 inch or above (154.94 cm)
Civil Status
- Applicants must be unmarried.
Police Constable Driver / Special Task Force Police Constable Driver
General Requirements
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 28 years of age as at the closing date for submission of applications.
Educational Qualifications
- Should have passed six (06) subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, including Mathematics and the mother tongue language (Sinhala/Tamil), in not more than two sittings.
Physical Standards
- Minimum Height: 5 feet 2 inches or above (157.48 cm)
- Minimum Chest Measurement: 30 inches or above (76 cm), with the required expansion on breathing
Civil Status
- Applicants must be unmarried.
Professional Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driving licence for light motor vehicles or heavy motor vehicles.
