School Library Best Practice Competition 2025/2026

Applications are invited for the school Library Best Practice Competition from Sri Lanka Library Association.

Under the theme “Paving the way for reading towards sustainable social progress,” the School Library Group of the Sri Lanka Library Association invites all public and private schools to participate in this Competition.

This initiative aims to recognize and celebrate innovative library projects implemented during the year 2025 that have significantly enhanced student engagement and reading culture.

Eligible schools are required to submit a comprehensive, formal report detailing their best practices, duly recommended by the School Principal.

An Official Newspaper for Your School

Lake House has initiated a programme named as an official newspaper for your school.

For whom?

For the talented writers and speakers within the school system
for the students who want to become presenters
for anyone who wants to write for a newspaper
for those who want to work with videos, and even for the little ones who like playing with a camera.

How does it work?

Twenty talented students from the school will be selected and brought to Lake House for a free media training workshop, where we will practically teach how to use your talents to contribute to the school newspaper.

Not only that-we'll also show how to create an online e-newspaper powered by video technology. So, to collect the information needed for your school's official newspaper, to document your talents, and to gather content for your e-newspaper, the Lake House Department of Government Relations media team will visit your school and work directly with you.

The 12-page newspaper created by you will be printed on 70gsm Off Paper and distributed alongside the 'DailyNews", Dinamina and thinakaran national newspaper in your province. Also,the digital e-paper will be available on your mobile device for sharing with everyone.
