01. Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Film and Television Studies
Aptitude Test is compulsory for eligible candidates who wish to apply for this degree programme.
02. Bachelor of Science Honours in Sports Science
Aptitude Test is compulsory for eligible candidates who wish to apply for this degree programme.
Important Notice
Candidates should apply for the respective aptitude test stated above in addition to the online application submitted to the UGC and should appear for the examination. This is compulsory.

Film and Television Studies – Qualifications & Test Details
- Should have obtained at least Simple Pass (S) in any three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in year 2025.
- The Aptitude Test will be conducted under two main parts.
- Written Test: General knowledge, Understanding Cinema and Television, Creative writing.
- The written test will be conducted only in Sinhala medium.
- Oral Test: Only candidates who obtained highest marks at the written test will be called for the Oral Test.
- The Oral Test will be held at the University premises.
Sports Science – Qualifications & Test Details
- Should have obtained at least a Simple Pass (S) in any three subjects under any subject stream at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in year 2025.
- The Aptitude Test will consist of Physical Fitness Assessment and Sports Achievements Evaluation.
- Physical Fitness Assessment: Candidates’ physical fitness qualities will be evaluated.
- Sports Achievements Evaluation: International, National, Provincial, District and Zonal level achievements will be evaluated.
Method of Submitting Applications
For Manual Users: Candidates should credit Rs. 1,800/- to Account No. 055-1001-40009867 maintained at the Kelaniya Branch of People’s Bank through any People’s Bank branch in Sri Lanka.
For CDM Cash Deposit Machine Users: Mention Name, National ID Number and applying degree programme examination on the receipt.
Online Payments: Payments can be made through Credit Cards / Debit Cards for the above account number.
When applying, use an active email address. Admission Card will not be received by post. The link will be sent to email or mobile phone through SMS.
Examination Instructions
- Bank receipt / CDM receipt should be submitted to the counter in front of the Examination Centre.
- If the receipt is not submitted, candidates may sit the exam, but results will not be released.
- If there is any name difference in documents and application, an affidavit should be handed over with the documents.
- A printed copy of the Admission Card should be taken to the Examination Centre.
- Candidates should report to the Examination Centre at least one hour before the examination.
