The concept of the School Library and Learning Resource Center was introduced to provide a wider and more effective service than a traditional library. Its main purpose is to support and strengthen the teaching and learning process in schools.
Accordingly, these centers have been established in schools to actively contribute to the educational process and provide better learning support to students and teachers.
👩🏫 Role of the School Library Assistant
The School Library Assistant supports the School Librarian or Teacher-Librarian in maintaining library services in an efficient and effective manner.
To make the service of library assistants more active and productive, this Training Manual for School Library Assistants has been prepared based on the training module issued by the School Library Development Branch.
For convenience, the title School Library Assistant is used in this manual as a common term to refer to all related positions, including School Library Assistant, School Library Worker, and School Library Service Assistant.
