Investigator-Driven Grants – Call for Proposals 2026

The National Research Council (NRC) under the Ministry of Science & Technology invites applications for research projects up to LKR 4 Million from public scientific research institutions and universities.

Projects must be innovative, evidence-based, and demonstrate strong potential for scalability. Priority will be given to proposals that focus on national interests and contribute to boosting the national economy.

1. Medical Sciences

2. Agriculture

3. Physical / Engineering Sciences & Technologies

4. Chemical Sciences

5. Environmental Sciences

6. Other nationally relevant areas with economic importance (with proper justification)

🗓 Applications must reach the NRC office by 4:00 p.m. on 31 March 2026

Submission Requirements:

• One original hard copy sent by registered post to the Chairperson, NRC

• A PDF copy of the original application via email
