01 Post HM 1-3 Age: 35–55 Structured Interview

01) Branch Principal (HM 1-3)

✅ Qualifications – External
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, Science or any other Degree relevant to the subject area of the post which is recognized by the University Grants Commission.
  • With a Postgraduate Degree qualification (Masters) in the relevant field OR Associate Membership of a recognized professional chartered Institute, which is relevant to the subject area of the post. (For engineering post Corporate Membership)
  • Minimum of 15 years experience at a managerial level in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or a reputed private institution, out of which 2 years should be at the Senior Managerial Level Category.
✅ Qualifications – Internal
  • Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates mentioned above, OR
  • Completion of minimum 02 years satisfactory service in a post in the Deputy Branch Principal Category (HM 1-1), in the subject area relevant to the post.
💰 Salary Scale
  • According to the DMS Circular No. 01/2025
  • HM 1-3 – Rs. 152,500 – 4,100×15 – Rs. 214,000/-
  • (In addition, government approved allowances will be paid.)
  • Salary as at 01.01.2026 – Rs. 133,028.00

  • Selection by on the result of a structured interview.

02) Deputy Branch Principal (HM 1-1)

✅ Qualifications – External
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, Science or any other Degree relevant to the subject area of the post which is recognized by the University Grants Commission.
  • With a Postgraduate Degree qualification (Masters) in the relevant field OR Associate Membership of a recognized professional chartered Institute, which is relevant to the subject area of the post. (For engineering post Corporate Membership)
  • Minimum of 13 years experience at a managerial level in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution or a reputed private institution after obtaining the first degree.
✅ Qualifications – Internal
  • Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates, OR
  • Completion of minimum 03 years satisfactory service in the Manager category (MM 1-1) grade 1, in the subject area relevant to the post with Postgraduate Degree or Associate Membership of a recognized professional chartered Institute, which is relevant to the subject area of the post. (For engineering post Corporate Membership)
💰 Salary Scale
  • According to the DMS Circular No. 01/2025
  • HM 1-1 – Rs. 140,640 – 4,100×15 – Rs. 202,140/-
  • (In addition, government approved allowances will be paid.)
  • Salary as at 01.01.2026 – Rs. 123,019.00

03 Posts MA 1-2 Age: 18–45 Written Exam / Interview

03) Management Assistant – Non Technological (MA 1-2)

✅ Qualifications – External
  • Having passed G.C.E. (A/L) examination (four subjects in old syllabus or three subjects in the new syllabus) AND
  • Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects in not more than two sittings with credit passes for four subjects including Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics.
✅ Qualifications – Internal
  • The Employees of the CGTTI drawing salaries on PL 1 salary scale and PL 3 scale provided that they have passed G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects not more than in two sittings and having credit passes for Mathematics and a Language subject are eligible to apply.
💰 Salary Scale
  • According to the DMS Circular No. 01/2025
  • MA 1-2 – Rs. 46,220 – 540×10 – 630×07 – 1080×12 – 1280×12 – 84,350/-
  • (In addition, government approved allowances will be paid.)
  • Salary as at 01.01.2026 – Rs. 43,312.00

02 Posts PL 3 Age: 18–45 Trade Test / Interview

04) Driver (PL 3)

✅ Qualifications – External
  • Having sat for the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination and passed a minimum of 02 subjects and having obtained the license issued by the Commissioner General Department of Motor traffic to drive heavy vehicles.
  • And a minimum of three (03) years experience in driving after obtaining the driving license.
✅ Qualifications – Internal
  • Having obtained the license issued by the Commissioner General Department of Motor traffic to drive heavy vehicles and a minimum of three (03) years experience in driving after obtaining the driving license.
  • And completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a post in the category of primary Unskilled. (PL-1)
💰 Salary Scale
  • According to the DMS Circular No. 01/2025
  • PL 3 – Rs. 43,280 – 490×10 – 540×10 – 590×10 – 630×12 – 67,040/-
  • (In addition, government approved allowances will be paid.)
  • Salary as at 01.01.2026 – Rs. 40,834.00

05) General Conditions & How to Apply (Full)

📌 General Conditions
  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Should be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties of the post well and to serve in any part of the Island.
  • Should be of excellent moral character.
  • The employees appointed to this category externally will be on probation for a period of three years (confirmation subject to satisfactory performance and conduct). The employees selected internally who are already confirmed in the previous post will be subjected to an acting period of one year.
  • Recruitment to the above post will be on the starting salary step.
  • Employee’s contribution towards employees’ provident fund will be 08% of the salary, while contribution of the Institution will be 12% and 03% towards the employees’ Trust Fund.
