Giga - Connecting every school in the world to the Internet

Giga Launched in 2019 , aims to connect every school in the world to the internet.

UNICEF and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have therefore joined forces to create Giga: a global initiative to connect every school to the Internet by 2030

2.2 Million schools mapped and 106 300 schools across 32 countries reported real time connectivity.

How Giga Works

• Map the location of the schools and monitor school connectivity status in real time
• Model the infrastructure and investments needed to deliver school connectivity
• Support government to build the right layered financing to pay for connectivity
• Help governments to contract connectivity for school.
