Qualifications required for applicants :
- Between the ages of 18 - 30 as at 01.03.2026 and
- Passed in GCE (O/L) in Art and Sinhala subjects
- Having obtained a distinction for Art at the G.C.E. (O/L) or having studied the G.C.E. (A/L) Art subject is considered a special qualification.
- Children of traditional artists can also apply for this, and it is not necessary to have fulfilled the basic educational qualifications. (They must confirm that they are members of a traditional artistic family and the certified letters from Grama Sevaka, Justice of the Peace, Religious Heads, approved by Divisional Secretary should be submitted.)
