The Ministry of Defence – National Building Research Institute (NBRI) invites applications from citizens of Sri Lanka for the following vacancies.

1. Senior Scientist AR – 2

• Engineer (Civil) – 1 Post

• Material – 1 Post

• Geologist – 1 Post

• Environmentalist – 1 Post

• Quantity Surveyor – 1 Post

External Qualifications (a or b):

(a)

• 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Science / Technology (UGC recognized)

• AND Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) or Corporate Membership in relevant professional body

• AND Minimum 08 years research & development experience after first degree

OR

(b)

• Special Degree in Engineering / Science / Technology

• AND PhD in relevant field

• AND Minimum 05 years research experience

Research publications will be an added qualification.

2. Scientist AR – 1, Gr. ii

• Engineer (Civil) – 5 Posts

• Material – 4 Posts

• Geologist – 19 Posts

• Town Planner – 3 Posts

• Quantity Surveyor – 2 Posts

Qualifications (a or b or c):

(a)

4-year Bachelor’s Degree (UGC recognized)

OR

(b)

3-year Bachelor’s Degree

AND Postgraduate Degree / Diploma in relevant field

OR

(c)

Associate Membership of IESL or Graduate Membership of SLIA

Relevant research experience will be an added advantage.

3. Management Assistant (Technical) MA 2-2, Gr.iii

(Civil, Quantity Surveying, Draftsman, Laboratory – 10 Posts)

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 5 Certificate
  OR

• National Certificate of Technology (NCT)
  OR

• Laboratory Diploma (UGC recognized)

Minimum 03 years working experience will be an advantage.

Salary Scales

• Senior Scientist AR – 2: Rs.133,220 – 169,220

• Scientist AR – 1 Gr.ii: Rs.91,650 – 168,200

• Management Assistant MA 2-2 Gr.iii: Rs.50,540 – 90,270

• AR – 2: 30 – 55 years

• AR – 1 Gr.ii: 22 – 45 years

• MA 2-2 Gr.iii: 18 – 45 years
