🚆 Colombo Suburb Railway Project Management Unit – Vacancies 2026
Applications are invited by the Colombo Suburb Railway Project Management Unit under the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development for recruitment of Project Staff for the Railway Efficiency Improvement Project (REIP).
This project is implemented together with Sri Lanka Railways under a loan from the Asian Development Bank. Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens with proficiency in English and experience in foreign funded project environments.
01. Assistant Project Director (Lands) – 01 Vacancy
Salary Category: C
Duties: Perform duties under Deputy Project Director (Social Security & Environment), oversee land acquisition process, prepare progress & quarterly reports, manage compensation, and maintain stakeholder coordination.
Qualifications (One of the following):
- Degree in relevant field recognized by UGC + 13 years managerial experience
- Postgraduate degree (Masters) + Associate Membership of professional institute + 13 years experience
- Associate/Full Professional Membership + 10 years managerial experience in land acquisition
- Class I Officer in All Island Service + Associate Membership + 5 years service in Class I
02. Senior Social Security Officer – 02 Vacancies
Salary Category: E
Duties: Prepare social security plans, progress reports, quarterly reports as per ADB guidelines and assist Deputy Project Director.
Qualifications (One of the following):
- Degree + 6 years experience in social security activities
- NVQ Level 07 + 6 years experience
- NVQ Level 06 + 11 years experience
- NVQ Level 05 + 16 years experience
03. Social Security Officer – 03 Vacancies
Salary Category: F
Duties: Social security implementation, survey reports preparation, resettlement activities, problem resolution under Deputy Project Director.
Qualifications (One of the following):
- Degree + 4 years experience
- NVQ Level 07 + 4 years experience
- NVQ Level 06 + 9 years experience
- NVQ Level 05 + 14 years experience
04. Lands Officer – 02 Vacancies
Salary Category: F
Duties: Land acquisition duties, progress reporting, stakeholder coordination including Survey Department & Divisional Secretariats, responsibilities under Government Land Acquisition Act.
Qualifications (One of the following):
- Degree + 4 years land acquisition experience
- NVQ Level 07 + 4 years experience
- NVQ Level 06 + 9 years experience
- NVQ Level 05 + 14 years experience
05. Social Security Assistant – 02 Vacancies
Salary Category: MN-1
Duties: Assist in social security activities under Deputy Project Director.
Qualifications: G.C.E A/L (Advanced Level) with 3 subjects including one credit pass.
