Applications are invited from qualified Sri Lankan applicants for vacancies at the National Institute of Education. Completed applications should be sent to the Director General, National Institute of Education, P.O. Box 21, Maharagama on or before 05 June 2026.

01. Senior Lecturer
02 Posts Age: 30 - 55Subject Areas: English / Health & Physical Education
Qualifications: Special Degree in relevant field with Postgraduate Diploma in Education and postgraduate degree with 08 years’ experience OR PhD with 05 years’ experience.
02. Legal Officer
01 Post Age: 22 - 45Qualifications: Bachelor of Law recognized by UGC, Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court, with minimum 01 year experience in law.
03. Office Secretary
01 Post Age: 22 - 45Qualifications: Degree in relevant field OR NVQ Level 7 OR NVQ Level 6 with 05 years’ experience OR NVQ Level 5 with 10 years’ experience.
04. Translator
01 Post Age: 22 - 45Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts Degree in Translation Studies recognized by UGC.
05. Library Assistant
02 Posts Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 or equivalent certificate in relevant field from a recognized technical/vocational training institution.
06. Lab Assistant
01 Post Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in relevant field OR NVQ Level 4 with 10 years’ post qualification experience.
07. Media Technician
02 Posts Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in relevant field OR NVQ Level 4 with 10 years’ post qualification experience.
08. Management Assistant
18 Posts Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: G.C.E. O/L with 06 subjects including English, 04 credits including Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics; G.C.E. A/L 03 subjects; computer diploma/certificate course of at least 06 months.
09. Driver
16 Posts Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: Passed 06 subjects at G.C.E. O/L with 02 credits, heavy vehicle driving licence, and minimum 03 years’ driving experience.
10. Chief Cook
01 Post Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 certificate in relevant field from a recognized technical/vocational training institution.
11. Computer Graphic Designer
02 Posts Contract Basis Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in relevant field OR NVQ Level 4 with 10 years’ post qualification experience.
12. Office Aide
10 Posts Contract Basis Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: Passed 06 subjects at G.C.E. O/L with 02 credit passes in not more than two sittings.
13. Labourer
03 Posts Contract Basis Age: 18 - 45Qualifications: Should have sat for the G.C.E. O/L Examination.
Important Conditions
- Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
- Applicants must be physically and mentally fit.
- Certified copies of birth certificate, educational/professional certificates and service certificates should be attached.
- Public sector applicants should forward applications through the Head of Institution.
- Late, incomplete or unqualified applications will be rejected.
