The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has released the second-stage interview notice for the Electrical Category of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service Grade III Open Recruitment 2024.

This announcement follows the earlier interview notification dated 28 May 2025. Nine additional candidates have been listed for interview based on the results of the written competitive examination.

All listed candidates should attend with the required original certificates and supporting documents.

B.Sc. Engineering degree certificate or accepted equivalent qualification.
Academic transcript.
G.C.E. Ordinary Level result sheet.

NIC, valid passport or valid driving licence.
Required self-attested A4 photocopies.
UGC recognition letter for relevant qualifications obtained outside Sri Lankan state universities, where applicable.
IESL membership confirmation letter for 2025 and 2026, as specified in the official notice.

Photocopy Requirements:
One self-attested copy set of the birth certificate and identification document, and two self-attested copy sets of the degree certificate, academic transcript and O/L results. All copies must be on A4 paper.

Applicants already serving in the public or provincial public service must also produce:

Appointment or absorption letter.
Confirmation of appointment letter.
Departmental disciplinary clearance covering the preceding five years.
Salary increment records and performance evaluation reports from 2020 to 2026.

Bring the originals and required copies certified by the Head of Institution, as directed in the official letter.

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has announced a competitive examination for recruitment to the post of Assistant Superintendent of Hostels – Grade III under the Management Assistant (Non-Technical) Segment 02 Service Category.

Eligible Sri Lankan citizens may submit applications through the official online examination application system.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

G.C.E. Advanced Level:

Applicants must have passed at least one subject at the G.C.E. A/L Examination.
The Common General Test and General English are excluded when determining this requirement.

G.C.E. Ordinary Level:

Must have passed six subjects at one sitting.
Credit passes are required for Sinhala / Tamil / English language, Mathematics and two other subjects.

⚠️ All required qualifications must be completed on or before the application closing date.

👤 Other Eligibility Requirements

Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Must be between 25 and 35 years of age on the closing date.
Must be of excellent character.
Must possess sufficient physical and mental fitness to perform the duties.
Must be willing and able to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.

💰 Salary and Service Conditions

Salary Code: MN 01-2025

Salary Scale:
Rs. 45,230 – 10 × 540 – 11 × 630 – 10 × 890 – 10 × 1,190 – Rs. 78,360

The stated salary scale applies from 01 January 2027 in accordance with Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025. Payments before that date are governed by the transitional provisions of the circular.

The appointment is pensionable.
Selected candidates must serve at least three years at their first place of appointment, subject to authorized exceptions.
The first Efficiency Bar Examination must be passed within three years of recruitment.
Applicable official language proficiency requirements must be fulfilled.

The Sinhala and English Gazette texts differ on the probationary period. Applicants should follow the authoritative Sinhala Gazette notification and obtain clarification where needed.

🏫 Main Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting the Hostel Superintendent in managing hostel activities.
Maintaining student discipline, safety and welfare.
Supervising food preparation, distribution and storage.
Maintaining records related to hostel supplies and food purchases.
Monitoring cleanliness, sanitation and hostel facilities.
Attending to sick students and student welfare matters.
Protecting government property and students' belongings.
Carrying out other relevant duties assigned by institutional authorities.

📝 Examination Structure

The competitive examination will be conducted in Sinhala and Tamil. Candidates must select their examination medium at the time of application.

The written papers contain multiple-choice questions covering general knowledge, numerical ability, logical reasoning, intelligence and job-related knowledge.

📌 Candidates must obtain at least 40 marks in each written examination paper to qualify for further selection. Eligible candidates are shortlisted for the suitability assessment interview according to merit and the number of vacancies.

Applicants must have passed at least six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
At least two credit passes are required.

💰 Salary Scale

The position carries the monthly salary scale PL 1-2025, under Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025:

The Legal Aid Commission of Sri Lanka, operating under the Ministry of Justice and National Integration, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for several employment opportunities.

The Commission was established under the Legal Aid Act No. 27 of 1978, primarily to provide legal assistance to marginalized communities.

01. Assistant Director (Finance)

Vacancies: 01 – Head Office

🎓 Qualifications – External Candidates

A UGC-recognized degree in Finance, Accountancy or Management, with at least five years of post-qualifying managerial experience in a relevant field in an eligible organization; OR
Intermediate-level qualification from a recognized professional accounting body (ICASL, CIMA, ACCA or CMA), with at least five years of managerial-level experience in financial management in an eligible organization.

Internal Candidates

Candidates must satisfy the external qualifications above, or have at least two years of satisfactory service in Grade I of the relevant field under the JM 1-1 service category.

💰 Salary Scale: MM-1-3 – Rs. 96,650 to Rs. 173,200 + Government-approved allowances + EPF/ETF.

Job Responsibility: Administration and supervision of all financial affairs of the Legal Aid Commission.

02. Legal Officer

🎓 Qualifications

External applicants must have at least three years of active professional experience as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka after taking oaths.

🎂 Age: 28–45 years as at 01.10.2026

💰 Salary Scale: MM-1-1 – Rs. 91,690 to Rs. 168,240 + Government-approved allowances + EPF/ETF.

Job Responsibility: Representing clients in courts as an Attorney-at-Law for the Legal Aid Commission and carrying out other duties assigned to a Legal Officer.

03. Internal Audit Officer (Grade II)

Vacancies: 01 – Head Office

🎓 External Qualifications

A UGC-recognized degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or another relevant field; OR
Intermediate-level examination pass from a recognized Chartered Professional Institute.

Internal Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy one of the external qualification routes or have at least five years of satisfactory service in Grade II of Management Assistant – Non-Technical (MA 1-2) in the relevant field.

🎂 Age: 22–45 years as at 01.10.2026. The maximum age limit does not apply to internal candidates.

💰 Salary Scale: JM-1-1 – Rs. 72,650 to Rs. 122,970 + Government-approved allowances + EPF/ETF.

Job Responsibility: Performing audit, administrative and financial management tasks under the supervision of senior management officers.

04. Management Assistant (Non-Technical) – Grade III

🎓 External Qualifications

Passed six subjects in G.C.E. Ordinary Level in one sitting, including credit passes in four subjects, with Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics among the credit passes.
Passed at least three subjects in G.C.E. Advanced Level, excluding General Common Test.

Internal Qualifications

Permanent and confirmed employees of Primary Service Class (Non-skilled, Semi-skilled or Skilled), with five years of continuous satisfactory service before the deadline, who satisfy the stated O/L requirements.

🎂 Age: 18–45 years as at 01.10.2026

💻 Additional Requirements: Excellent computer literacy and typing skills in Sinhala, Tamil or English.

💰 Salary Scale: MA 1-2 – Rs. 46,220 to Rs. 84,350 + Government-approved allowances + EPF/ETF.

Job Responsibility: Assisting executive and administrative staff with non-technical operations and assigned administrative tasks.

The Public Service Commission has invited applications from suitably qualified officers for appointment to the post of Valuer of Grade III Class I of the Sri Lanka Valuation Service, based on service experience and competency.

Applications are invited to fill 22 existing vacancies in the relevant grade, subject to the eligibility requirements and recruitment procedure specified in the official notice.

🎓 Required Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

Be an Assistant Valuer of Grade I Class II of the Sri Lanka Valuation Service.
Have passed the Efficiency Bar Examination of Grade I Class II related to Office Based / Field Officer Category II.
Meet the disciplinary eligibility requirement relating to Public Service Commission Circular No. 01/2020 and its amendments, as specified in the notice.

This is an internal, experience-based appointment process for eligible serving officers. It is not advertised as a general open recruitment for school leavers.

📋 Method of Selection

Eligible applicants will be called for an Eligibility Assessment Interview. Selection is based on the approved marking scheme, service experience, competency and interview assessment.

Candidates may be selected on the basis of merit marks and an Eligibility Assessment Interview conducted by a panel appointed by the Public Service Commission.
Applicants up to twice the number of vacancies may be invited for assessment according to seniority.
Appointment numbers and effective appointment dates will be determined by the Public Service Commission.

Selection Marking Scheme

Grand Total: 100 Marks

Seniority – 60 Marks

Active and satisfactory period of service in Grade II Class III up to the relevant promotion date – 25 marks.
Active and satisfactory service from the date of promotion to Grade I Class III up to the application closing date – 35 marks.

Competency – 30 Marks

Additional educational qualifications in a relevant field – 12 marks.
Vocational / professional qualifications – 8 marks.
Vocational performance appraisal – 10 marks.

Recognized qualifications include the specified postgraduate degree/diploma in Real Estate Management and Valuation, relevant professional institute memberships, and approved relevant courses. The detailed conditions, marks and limitations are provided in the original notice.

Performance appraisal marks are allocated according to the prescribed assessment levels for the preceding five years.

💰 Salary Scale

The applicable salary scale is stated in Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025 dated 25 March 2025:

Rs. 82,150 – 10 × 2,400 – 8 × 2,940 – 17 × 3,900 – Rs. 195,970

Salary Code: SL 1–2025

📌 Terms and Conditions

The appointment is permanent and pensionable, subject to the applicable pension scheme contributions.
A probationary period of one year applies.
Applicable official language proficiency requirements must be fulfilled.
The appointment is governed by the Public Service Commission rules, Establishments Code, departmental orders and other applicable government regulations.
Age limit: Not applicable.

Submit the completed application through the Head of Department.
The Head of Department must forward applications by registered post so that they are received on or before 19 October 2026.
