Recruitment Details

The North Central Provincial Public Service Commission invites applications from qualified candidates for recruitment to the post of Animal Development Instructor – Grade III in the Department of Animal Production and Health through an open competitive examination.

Educational Qualifications

G.C.E. Advanced Level:

Applicants must have passed three subjects in one sitting, including at least two of the following:

• Agriculture
• Biology
• Physics
• Zoology
• Biosystems Technology
• Bioresource Technology
• Agricultural Technology

G.C.E. Ordinary Level:

Passes in six subjects in one sitting, including credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil/English language, Science, Mathematics and one other subject.

Professional Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the following:

• A two-year Diploma in Agriculture or Animal Husbandry awarded by an institution recognized by TVEC.
• NVQ Level 6 qualification relevant to the field.
• Another technical qualification recognized by TVEC as equivalent under the prescribed procedure.

Experience: Not required under the original notice.

Age and Other Requirements

• Age between 18 and 30 years on the original closing date.
• The upper age limit does not apply to permanent officers already serving in the public or provincial public service.
• Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens.
• Normally, at least three years of permanent and continuous residence in the North Central Province immediately before the closing date is required. The spouse's permanent residence may also be considered.
• Candidates from other provinces may be considered only if sufficient qualified applicants cannot be selected from within the province, subject to a minimum five-year service requirement in the North Central Province.
• Applicants must satisfy the required physical, mental and character conditions.

Salary and Service Conditions

Salary Code: MN3-2025

Salary Scale: Rs. 52,250 – 10×800 – 11×1,190 – 10×1,320 – 10×1,350 – Rs. 100,040.

Government-approved cost-of-living allowances are payable in addition to the salary, subject to applicable provisions.

The post is permanent, with pension arrangements subject to government policy. The original notice also specifies probationary or acting-period requirements depending on the applicant's existing public-service status.

Examination Structure

The examination will be conducted in Sinhala and Tamil. Selection is based on the written examination and a general interview, according to the prescribed merit and eligibility requirements.

Application Procedure

1. Read the original notice and the amendment carefully.
2. Prepare the application according to the specimen form attached to the original notice, using A4 paper and the prescribed layout.
3. Complete the application clearly in the examination language medium selected.
4. Pay the examination fee of Rs. 720 in cash to a Divisional Secretariat within the North Central Province, under revenue code 2003.02.13 using form NC 100.
5. Attach the original payment receipt as instructed and retain a copy.
6. Have the applicant's signature properly certified.
7. Submit the application by registered post, observing the applicable deadline and any amendment.

Applicants already employed in the public or provincial public service must forward applications through their heads of department.
