External Applicants

Route A: A UGC-recognized first degree in a relevant Science field, Agriculture, Business Administration, Management or Finance; plus a relevant Master's degree or Associate Membership of a recognized Chartered Professional Institute of Management; and at least 20 years' managerial-level experience after the degree, including at least 5 years at Senior Management level.

OR Route B: A relevant UGC-recognized first degree and PhD; plus at least 5 years' outstanding service at Senior Management level after obtaining the PhD.

Internal Applicants

At least 5 years' satisfactory service in the relevant subject area within the Board's Senior Management category, together with proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage human and other resources efficiently.

External Applicants

A UGC-recognized first degree in a relevant Science field, Agriculture, Business Administration, Management or Finance; plus a relevant postgraduate degree or Associate Membership of a recognized Chartered Professional Institute; and at least 15 years' relevant managerial-level experience in the Government, a State organization or a recognized private institution.

Internal Applicants

Must meet the external qualifications and have at least 5 years' satisfactory service in a Grade I post in the relevant field under the Managerial Services (MM) category.

External Applicants

A UGC-recognized degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Management; or a pass in the Intermediate Examination of a recognized Chartered Professional Institute relevant to the post; plus at least 1 year of relevant experience after obtaining the qualification.

Internal Applicants

A Board employee who meets the external qualifications; or an officer with 5 years' satisfactory service in a relevant Junior Management (JM) category post.

A UGC-recognized degree in Agriculture relevant to the Science subject field, together with at least 1 year of relevant experience after obtaining the qualification in the Government, a State organization or a recognized private institution.

• G.C.E. O/L: Pass 6 subjects in one sitting with 4 Credit passes, including Sinhala/Tamil Language and Mathematics.
• G.C.E. A/L: Pass at least 3 subjects, excluding the Common General Test, in the Science stream or including Agriculture under the new syllabus. Under the old syllabus, 4 subject passes are required.

Internal Applicants

Eligible Primary Grade Non-Skilled, Semi-Skilled and Skilled employees must have the stated O/L qualifications, hold a permanent and confirmed appointment, and have at least 5 years' continuous satisfactory service immediately before the closing date. Training, temporary and casual service before permanent appointment are not counted.
