Vacancy Details

The Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the following permanent posts. Selected officers must be willing to serve in any division of the Commission or at any location in Sri Lanka.

1. Driver (PL 3) - 05 Posts

Educational qualifications

Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, including Sinhala and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Technical qualifications and experience

  • A valid licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic to drive all heavy vehicles.
  • At least three years of experience obtained after receiving the driving licence.
  • General knowledge of motor mechanics, good eyesight and a minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches.

Internal applicants

Employees in Primary Non-Skilled Service Categories who possess the required driving licence and experience may apply.

Age and selection

Above 18 and below 45 years. The maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants. Selection will be through a structured interview and a professional competency test.

Salary

Rs. 43,280 - 67,040 (applicable from 01.01.2027). Salary payable as at 01.01.2026: Rs. 40,834.

2. Office Assistant (PL 1) - 02 Posts

Educational qualifications

Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, including Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Age and selection

Not less than 18 and not more than 45 years. Applicants will be selected through a structured interview.

Salary

Rs. 40,500 - 62,530 (applicable from 01.01.2027). Salary payable as at 01.01.2026: Rs. 38,488.

  • Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens of excellent character.
  • Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
  • These are permanent posts and are subject to a probationary period.

12. තාක්ෂණ සහකාර (යාන්ත්‍රික) - 01යාන්ත්‍රික තාක්ෂණ පාඨමාලාවක් සමඟ NVQ 5 හෝ ඉහළ සුදුසුකම. වසර 2ක යාන්ත්‍රික කාර්මික/ෆිටර් පළපුරුද්ද අමතර සුදුසුකමකි.
13. පොත් තබන්නා - 01මූල්‍ය/ගිණුම්කරණ/වාණිජ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ NVQ 5 හෝ ඉහළ උසස් අධ්‍යාපන පාඨමාලාවක්. වසර 2ක පොත් තැබීමේ පළපුරුද්ද අමතර සුදුසුකමකි.
14. කළමනාකරණ සහකාර (ඇසුරුම් පරීක්ෂක) - 01එක් වරකදී O/L විෂය 6ක් (සිංහල/දෙමළ හා ගණිතය ඇතුළු සම්මාන 4ක්), A/L විෂය 3ක් සමත් වීම, ඇසුරුම් පාඨමාලාවක් සහ වසර 1ක පළපුරුද්ද.
15. ස්ථානභාර නිලධාරී (ගබඩා/අලෙවිසැල්) - 04ඉහත O/L හා A/L සුදුසුකම්, ගබඩාකරණ/Warehouse Management පාඨමාලාවක් සහ වසර 1ක පළපුරුද්ද.

2. உதவிப் பொது முகாமையாளர் (தொழிற்சாலை) - 01இயந்திரவியல்/உற்பத்திப் பொறியியல் பட்டம், தொடர்புடைய முதுகலைப் பட்டம் அல்லது பட்டயத் தொழில்முறை நிறுவன இணை உறுப்புரிமை மற்றும் முகாமைத்துவ மட்டத்தில் 15 வருட அனுபவம்.
3. உதவிப் பொது முகாமையாளர் (சந்தைப்படுத்தல்) - 01சந்தைப்படுத்தல் முகாமைத்துவம்/வணிக நிர்வாகம்/வணிக முகாமைத்துவம்/வணிகவியல் பட்டம், தொடர்புடைய முதுகலை அல்லது தொழில்முறைத் தகைமை மற்றும் 15 வருட முகாமைத்துவ அனுபவம்.
4. உதவிப் பொது முகாமையாளர் (மனிதவளம் மற்றும் நிர்வாகம்) - 01மனிதவள முகாமைத்துவம்/சட்டம்/வணிக முகாமைத்துவம்/பொது அல்லது வணிக நிர்வாகப் பட்டம், தொடர்புடைய முதுகலை அல்லது தொழில்முறைத் தகைமை மற்றும் 15 வருட முகாமைத்துவ அனுபவம்.
5. மருத்துவ அலுவலர் - 01UGC அங்கீகரித்த BAMS பட்டம் மற்றும் பட்டத்தின் பின்னர் தொடர்புடைய துறையில் 1 வருட அனுபவம்.
6. முகாமையாளர் (தொழிற்சாலை) - 01UGC மற்றும் IESL அங்கீகரித்த 4 வருட B.Sc. Engineering பட்டம் அல்லது சமமான தகைமை, Engineering Council இல் Associate Engineer பதிவு மற்றும் பதிவுக்குப் பின்னர் 1 வருட அனுபவம்.
7. முகாமையாளர் (செலவீனம்/Costing) - 01முகாமைத்துவம்/கணக்கியல்/வணிகவியல்/நிதி சார்ந்த பட்டம் மற்றும் 1 வருட நிர்வாக மட்ட அனுபவம்; அல்லது பட்டயத் தொழில்முறை நிறுவன Intermediate Level மற்றும் 1 வருட தொடர்புடைய அனுபவம்.
8. உதவி முகாமையாளர் (விற்பனை ஊக்குவிப்பு) - 02முகாமைத்துவம்/சந்தைப்படுத்தல்/வணிகவியல் பட்டம் மற்றும் சந்தைப்படுத்தலில் தகைமைக்குப் பின்னர் 2 வருட அனுபவம்.
9. தொழில்நுட்ப அலுவலர் (இயந்திரவியல்/மின்சாரம்) - 01தொடர்புடைய பட்டம்/NDT/NVQ தகைமை. அறிவித்தலின்படி NVQ 7க்கு 2 வருடம், NVQ 6க்கு 5 வருடம், NVQ 5க்கு 10 வருட தொடர்புடைய அனுபவம்.
10. தரக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு அலுவலர் - 01இரசாயனவியல்/பௌதிகவியல்/உயிரியல் விஞ்ஞானம்/உணவுத் தொழில்நுட்பப் பட்டம் மற்றும் ஆய்வுகூடத் துறையில் 2 வருட அனுபவம்.
11. தொழில்நுட்ப உதவியாளர் (மின்சாரம்) - 01மின்சார தொழில்நுட்பப் பாடநெறியுடன் NVQ 5 அல்லது அதற்கு மேல். மின்சாரத் தொழிலாளியாக 2 வருட அனுபவம் மேலதிகத் தகைமை.
12. தொழில்நுட்ப உதவியாளர் (இயந்திரவியல்) - 01இயந்திரத் தொழில்நுட்பப் பாடநெறியுடன் NVQ 5 அல்லது அதற்கு மேல். Mechanical Technician/Fitter ஆக 2 வருட அனுபவம் மேலதிகத் தகைமை.
13. கணக்குப் பதிவாளர் - 01நிதி/கணக்கியல்/வணிகவியல் துறையில் NVQ 5 அல்லது அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட உயர்கல்விப் பாடநெறி. 2 வருட கணக்குப் பதிவு அனுபவம் மேலதிகத் தகைமை.
14. முகாமைத்துவ உதவியாளர் (பொதியிடல் பரிசோதகர்) - 01ஒரே அமர்வில் O/L 6 பாடங்கள், சிங்களம்/தமிழ் மற்றும் கணிதம் உட்பட 4 திறமைச் சித்திகள்; A/L இல் 3 பாடச் சித்திகள்; பொதியிடல் பாடநெறி மற்றும் 1 வருட அனுபவம்.
15. பொறுப்பதிகாரி (களஞ்சியம்/விற்பனை நிலையங்கள்) - 04மேற்கண்ட O/L, A/L தகைமைகள், Storekeeping/Warehouse Management பாடநெறி மற்றும் 1 வருட தொடர்புடைய அனுபவம்.
16. பொறுப்பதிகாரி (மருத்துவ மூலிகைத் தோட்டம்) - 01மேற்கண்ட O/L, A/L தகைமைகள் மற்றும் விவசாயப் பாடநெறி. A/L விவசாயப் பாடத்தில் சித்தியடைந்தவர்களுக்கு பாடநெறி அவசியமில்லை.
17. சாரதி - 03இரண்டு அமர்வுகளுக்கு மேற்படாமல் O/L 6 பாடச் சித்திகள், 2 திறமைச் சித்திகள், D வகுப்பு சாரதி அனுமதிப்பத்திரம் மற்றும் அதைப் பெற்ற பின்னர் 3 வருட அனுபவம்.
18. இயந்திர இயக்குநர் - 03இயந்திரம் மற்றும் இயந்திர இயக்கத்தில் TVEC அங்கீகரித்த NVQ 2 அல்லது அதற்கு மேல்.
19. கொதிகலன் இயக்குநர் - 01கொதிகலன் இயக்கத்தில் TVEC அங்கீகரித்த NVQ 2 அல்லது அதற்கு மேல்.

Qualifications

Salary and Benefits

Salary scale: U MN 3(II) – Rs. 71,365 – 18 × Rs. 1,190 – Rs. 92,785 per month.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE), operating under the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to serve as Visiting Lecturers for the 2026 First Semester.

Basic Eligibility

  • Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
  • Applicants must possess excellent moral character.
  • Persons holding religious status in any religious denomination are not eligible to sit this examination.
  • Applicants must possess the required educational and physical qualifications by the closing date.

Educational Qualifications

  • Passed three principal subjects in one sitting at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
  • Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in not more than two sittings.
  • The O/L results must include credit passes in Sinhala or Tamil and Mathematics, together with at least an ordinary pass in English.

Physical Qualifications

  • Male applicants: Minimum height of 5 feet 5 inches and chest measurement of not less than 33 inches when expanded.
  • Female applicants: Minimum height of 5 feet 3 inches.

Salary Scale

Under Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025, the salary scale assigned to the RS-1 category is: Rs. 49,550 – 7 × 540 – 27 × 670 – Rs. 71,420.

Applicants must obtain at least 60% for each question paper. Qualified applicants will be called for a structured interview. Sports achievements may receive up to 10 marks at the structured interview.

Limited Competitive Examination

The Limited Competitive Examination is for eligible officers serving in Grade II of the post of Customs Guard. It is intended to fill 50% of the existing vacancies in Grade II of the Inspector of Customs post.

Main Qualifications

  • Must be an officer serving in Grade II of the Customs Guard post.
  • Must have completed the stipulated satisfactory and active service period and earned the relevant salary increments.
  • Must have demonstrated satisfactory or higher performance under the approved performance appraisal scheme.
  • Must have passed the relevant Efficiency Bar Examinations.
  • Must satisfy all prescribed qualifications by the application closing date.

Experience Requirement

Applicants should generally have completed at least three years of service in Grade II of the Customs Guard post.

Officers who fulfil the special transitional qualifications specified in the Gazette by 31.12.2026 may also be considered under the Limited stream. Eligible officers should carefully read the complete Gazette notice before applying.

General Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

Examination Fee

Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess either of the following qualifications:

  • An Attorney-at-Law with a Degree in Law or Legal Studies, together with at least two years of experience in court work, legal work and drafting legal documents.
  • OR
  • An Attorney-at-Law with at least three years of relevant experience in court work, legal work and drafting legal documents.

The required experience should have been obtained after acquiring the relevant qualification in a state institution, corporation, reputed private-sector organization or official bar.

Salary and Selection

Salary Scale:
U-EX 1(II) – Rs. 85,305 - 3 × 2,020 - 91,365 (EB) 93,765; 12 × 2,400 - 122,565 per month

Government-approved allowances will also be paid.

  • Selection will be conducted through a structured interview.
  • Applicants who obtain 40% or more at the structured interview will be eligible for consideration.

Basic Qualification Summary

Lecturer (Probationary)

Applicants should possess a degree with specialization in the relevant subject with First Class or Second Class Honours. Certain applicants possessing other recognized degrees and relevant postgraduate qualifications with a research component may also be considered in accordance with the applicable UGC circulars.

Candidates are required to make a presentation before the selection committee to demonstrate their teaching ability.

Lecturer (Unconfirmed)

Applicants should possess the required academic qualifications for Lecturer (Probationary), together with a relevant Master's or Doctoral degree, subject to the requirements stated in the official notice and applicable UGC circulars.

Senior Lecturer Grade II

Applicants should possess the relevant academic and postgraduate qualifications, together with at least six years of eligible teaching, professional, research or postgraduate study experience.

Senior Lecturer Grade I

Applicants should possess the relevant academic and postgraduate qualifications, together with at least twelve years of eligible experience. At least six years should have been completed after obtaining the specified postgraduate qualification.

Important Conditions

  • The advertised posts are permanent.
  • The initial appointment will be subject to a three-year probationary period.
  • Applicable employees will contribute 10% of earnings to the Universities Provident Fund.
  • The University will contribute 7% to the Universities Provident Fund and 8% to the Pension Fund.
