Vacancy Details

The University of Peradeniya invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:

Post: Assistant Registrar (Legal & Documentation)
Institution: University of Peradeniya
Selection Method: Structured Interview

Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess either of the following qualifications:

An Attorney-at-Law with a Degree in Law or Legal Studies, together with at least two years of experience in court work, legal work and drafting legal documents.
OR
An Attorney-at-Law with at least three years of relevant experience in court work, legal work and drafting legal documents.

The required experience should have been obtained after acquiring the relevant qualification in a state institution, corporation, reputed private-sector organization or official bar.

Salary and Selection

Salary Scale:
U-EX 1(II) – Rs. 85,305 - 3 × 2,020 - 91,365 (EB) 93,765; 12 × 2,400 - 122,565 per month

Government-approved allowances will also be paid.

Selection will be conducted through a structured interview.
Applicants who obtain 40% or more at the structured interview will be eligible for consideration.

Appointment Details

The Judicial Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for appointment as members of the panel required to establish Agrarian Boards of Review.

A panel consisting of not more than nine persons will be appointed from among persons with broad knowledge and experience in law and agrarian services.

Maximum Members Up to 9 persons

Period of Appointment Three years

Maximum Age Not more than 70 years

Eligible Applicants Citizens of Sri Lanka

Who Can Apply?

Applicants should be physically fit, possess excellent moral character and be not more than 70 years of age.

Retired Judges
Attorneys-at-Law with more than 10 years of professional experience.
Persons with at least 10 years of executive-level experience in the field of agriculture who are currently engaged, or have previously been engaged, in work connected with Agrarian Service Law.

Legal Basis

The panel will be appointed for the establishment of Boards of Review under Section 42A(1) of the Agrarian Development Act No. 46 of 2000, as amended by the Agrarian Development Act No. 46 of 2011.

Allowances

The allowances paid to a panel member in 2023 were stated as follows:

Monthly Allowance Rs. 50,000

Travelling Allowance Rs. 10,000 per month

These are the allowance amounts stated in the official notice with reference to the year 2023.
