🎓 Educational Qualifications

Applicants must have passed six (06) subjects in the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
At least two (02) credit passes must have been obtained.
These qualifications should have been obtained within a maximum of two sittings.

🚘 Driving Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a valid driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic for driving heavy vehicles.
A minimum of three (03) years of driving experience after obtaining the driving licence is required.

👤 Age and Other Requirements

Applicants should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age.

Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post and serve in any part of the island.
Must possess excellent moral character.

📝 Selection Procedure

Selection will be conducted through a structured interview and a trade test.

The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, invites applications from suitably qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the position of Director.

PIM was established in 1986 under the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978 and is governed by PIM Ordinance No. 03 of 2018.

The Institute operates as a self-financing higher education institution, providing postgraduate education, professional training, research and development in management and administration.

Responsibilities of the Director

The selected Director will serve as:

Principal Executive Officer of the Institute.
Principal Academic Officer of the Institute.
Accounting Officer of the Institute.
Ex-officio member and Chairman of the Board of Management.
Ex-officio member of the Boards of Study.

The Director is expected to provide academic, professional and administrative leadership and contribute to postgraduate management education, research and professional development.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

Be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Be below 63 years of age as at the closing date of applications.
Possess outstanding academic and professional qualifications in management, administration or a relevant field.
Have a commendable record of achievement, leadership, research and administration.
Demonstrate significant professional contributions and relevant experience.

Salary and Appointment

The successful applicant will be appointed on a full-time basis for a period of three years from the date of appointment or until reaching the age of 65 years, whichever occurs earlier.

The selected applicant will receive the salary prescribed under Salary Code U-AC5, applicable allowances and other benefits attached to the post.

Certified copies of academic and professional qualifications and documentary evidence relating to leadership, research publications, professional achievements, appreciations and administrative experience, where applicable.

About the Vacancy

The Council of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts invites applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor in accordance with Section 34 of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978, subsequent amendments and University Grants Commission Circular No. 03/2023.

The Vice-Chancellor is the Principal Executive Officer, Principal Academic Officer and Accounting Officer of the University.

Applicant Profile

Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Must be below 63 years of age by the application closing date.
Should have outstanding academic achievements and a strong research profile.
Should demonstrate proven leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
Must demonstrate understanding of university policies, academic excellence and institutional responsibilities.
Should demonstrate integrity, transparency, accountability and effective leadership.

A statement of vision for the development of the University.
A brief account of the achievements proposed if appointed as Vice-Chancellor.
