The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) invites applications for the Master of Science (MSc) in Data Science programme, offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Technology.

✅ Admission Requirements

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following qualification pathways:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology in a Computing field from a recognized university.
A Bachelor's degree in another field from a recognized university, with at least 35% of total credits in Computing or IT-related subjects, together with a minimum of one year of appropriate computing-related experience after graduation.
Membership of a recognized professional institute relevant to Computing, obtained through an academic route at SLQF Level 6, together with at least one year of appropriate experience after obtaining membership.
Other qualifications and experience acceptable to the University Senate.

Salary and Benefits

Salary scale: U MN 3(II) – Rs. 71,365 – 18 × Rs. 1,190 – Rs. 92,785 per month.

The advertisement states that this scale becomes fully operative from 01.01.2027. Salary placement for 2026 will be made according to University Grants Commission Circular No. 02/2025 (i) dated 04.04.2025. Any other allowances applicable to the post may also be paid.

Be a manager of a Government Teacher Centre, lecturer at the National Institute of Education, head of a recognized educational institution, or another professional in educational administration and management acceptable to the Senate of OUSL; or
Possess an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of The Open University of Sri Lanka.

Important: Applicants with a foreign, online or other degree not obtained from a recognized Sri Lankan university may be required to submit confirmation that the qualification is recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.

The Open University of Sri Lanka invites online applications for the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences programme for the 2026/2027 academic year. This multidisciplinary undergraduate programme is conducted by the Department of Social Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following:

A minimum of three passes at the G.C.E. A/L Examination in any stream; or
Completion of any foundation programme offered by OUSL; or
A minimum of 30 credits at SLQF Level 2 or above from a programme approved by the OUSL Senate; or
A qualification or accredited work experience equivalent to NVQ Level 4; or
An equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the OUSL Senate.

Areas of Study

Students receive multidisciplinary social-science training and can select one of the following streams:

Communication Studies
Politics and International Relations
Society and Culture Studies

The programme starts at Level 3. Each year has two semesters, and students may offer courses worth up to 15 credits per semester. Compulsory, elective and Continuing Education courses are included.
