Advanced Level PHYSICS Practical Workshop 2026

Conducted for the 10th time by the Department of Physics, The Open University of Sri Lanka

Limited seats are available and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Institute of Physics Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Department of Physics of the Open University of Sri Lanka, has organized a one-day Physics Practical Workshop for students sitting for the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in the Biological Science or Physical Science streams.

Important Instructions for Students

The original payment receipt must be produced when entering the workshop venue.

Students are advised not to bring large backpacks or school bags.
Transport arrangements must be made by students, parents, guardians or accompanying teachers.
Students must maintain discipline throughout the programme.
Students must not leave the laboratory without permission from the organizers.

Instructions for Parents and Teachers

Parents, guardians or teachers accompanying students should drop students at the venue and leave the university premises. They should return at approximately 5.00 p.m. to collect the students. Loitering within the university premises is not permitted.

Course Objectives

To enhance participants’ competencies in research methods used in the field of education.
To update knowledge of research designs, research types, data-collection methods and data-analysis strategies.
To provide hands-on experience in important areas of research methodology.
To facilitate the application of research skills in educational institutions and day-to-day professional activities.

Admission Requirements

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. The course advertisement states that the degree should have a minimum duration of three years.

The final decision regarding the selection of applicants will be made by the relevant Selection Board.

සිංහල සාරාංශය

ශ්‍රී ලංකා විවෘත විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය විසින් අධ්‍යාපනයේ පර්යේෂණ ක්‍රමවේදය පිළිබඳ මාස තුනක කෙටි පාඨමාලාව සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවනු ලැබේ. පාඨමාලාව සිංහල, දෙමළ සහ ඉංග්‍රීසි මාධ්‍යයෙන් පැවැත්වෙන අතර පාඨමාලා ගාස්තුව රු. 30,000 කි. පිළිගත් විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයකින් උපාධියක් ලබා ඇති අය අයදුම් කිරීමට සුදුසුකම් ලබති.

இலங்கை திறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தினால் கல்வியியலில் ஆராய்ச்சி முறையியல் தொடர்பான மூன்று மாத குறுகிய காலப் பாடநெறிக்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. இப்பாடநெறி தமிழ், சிங்களம் மற்றும் ஆங்கில மொழிகளில் நடத்தப்படும். பாடநெறிக் கட்டணம் ரூ. 30,000 ஆகும். அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட பல்கலைக்கழகமொன்றின் பட்டத்தைப் பெற்றவர்கள் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
