Undergraduate Cadetships 2026 / 2027

Introduction

Applications are invited for Officer Cadet Intake 44 – Undergraduate Cadetships 2026/2027 at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). Selected candidates will undergo academic studies along with military training and will be commissioned to Sri Lanka Armed Forces upon successful completion.

Eligibility

• Citizen of Sri Lanka
• Age 18 – 22 years (by 31.12.2025)
• Unmarried
• G.C.E. A/L 2024 or 2025 (MBBS – 2025 only)
• Minimum 30 marks for Common General Test
• Credit pass for English (TESOL requires B pass)

Important Information

• Mandatory military training included
• Commissioned to Army / Navy / Air Force
• Bond agreement required
• Monthly allowance approx. LKR 105,000

Schooling Period Verification System

For Candidates of G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination 2025

Important Notice

School principals should login to the school account and verify the schooling period details of students who applied for the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination 2025 from their school.

How to Verify Student Details

When certifying the university application page of a student, enter the relevant student’s index number in the search box. Then click the Edit button and enter the required information.

Principals can also update details of all students who applied for the G.C.E. (A/L) 2025 examination from the school by clicking the Edit button in each student record.

Special Note

If a student joined your school after 01.01.2023, provide details of each school and the relevant schooling period attended during the three-year period before that date.

After UGC Application Deadline

After the closing date for university admission applications for the academic year 2025/2026, principals should take a printout of the generated PDF, place the signature and official seal, and send it by registered post to:
