Important Notice for All School Principals

Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka

Submit the Information Within One Month School principals must complete the online form with the required details and submit them to the Department of Examinations.

Important Notice for School Principals

The Department of Examinations has requested all school principals to submit information regarding the examination result sheets and certificates received by their schools from 2016 to 2025.

The requested information applies to the following examinations:

Grade 5 Scholarship Examination

G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination

G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination

Information to Be Submitted

Principals must check the school records and enter the following details separately for the period from 2016 to 2025:

Number of result sheets and certificates received by the school.
Number of result sheets and certificates already issued to students.
Number of result sheets and certificates still remaining at the school.

The above information must be entered accurately in the official online form and submitted to the Department of Examinations within one month.

Result Sheets Must Be Issued Without Delay

The Department of Examinations has instructed principals to issue the available result sheets and certificates to the relevant students as soon as possible.

Result sheets should not be kept at the school unnecessarily.
The relevant students should be informed and the documents should be issued without delay.
G.C.E. O/L and G.C.E. A/L individual result sheets must be properly certified with the principal’s signature and the school’s official stamp before being issued.
Grade 5 Scholarship Examination certificates should also be issued promptly to the relevant students.
Accurate records must be maintained for every result sheet or certificate issued to a student.

Responsibility of the Principal:
Principals are responsible for ensuring that the information submitted through the online form is accurate. They must also prevent the alteration, misuse or fraudulent use of result sheets and certificates.

පාසලේ ඉතිරිව ඇති ප්‍රතිඵල සටහන් සහ සහතික පත්‍ර අදාළ සිසුන් වෙත ප්‍රමාදයකින් තොරව හැකි ඉක්මනින් ලබාදෙන ලෙසද විභාග දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විදුහල්පතිවරුන්ට දැනුම් දී ඇත.

අ.පො.ස. ප්‍රතිඵල සටහන් විදුහල්පතිවරයාගේ අත්සන සහ පාසලේ නිල මුද්‍රාව යොදා නිසි ලෙස සහතික කිරීමෙන් පසු සිසුන් වෙත ලබාදිය යුතුය.

Results Re-scrutiny Online Application

The Department of Examinations has opened the online application facility for candidates who wish to request re-scrutiny of their G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination 2025 (2026) results.

Important Notice During the re-scrutiny process, the relevant answer scripts are fully examined by several members of the Re-scrutiny Board. Therefore, an upward or downward revision of marks or grades is possible.

💳 Application Fee Rs. 200 per Subject

Who Can Apply?

Both school candidates and private candidates who sat for the G.C.E. O/L Examination 2025 (2026) may submit applications for re-scrutiny of results.

The candidate must submit the application personally.
Applications will only be accepted through the official online application system.
Candidates must use the same Index Number and National Identity Card number used when sitting for the examination.
The principal's recommendation or signature is not required for applications submitted by school candidates.

2025 (2026) අ.පො.ස. සාමාන්‍ය පෙළ විභාග ප්‍රතිඵල නැවත පරීක්ෂා කිරීම සඳහා අයදුම්පත් 2026 ජූනි 25 සිට 2026 ජූලි 08 දක්වා මාර්ගගතව පමණක් භාරගනු ලැබේ. පාසල් සහ පෞද්ගලික අයදුම්කරුවන් තමන් විසින්ම අයදුම් කළ යුතුය. එක් විෂයකට ගාස්තුව රු. 200කි. විභාගයට පෙනී සිටි අවස්ථාවේ භාවිත කළ දර්ශක අංකය සහ ජාතික හැඳුනුම්පත් අංකයම භාවිත කළ යුතුය. නැවත පරීක්ෂා කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය සියලුම විෂයන් එකම අයදුම්පතට ඇතුළත් කළ යුතු අතර ගෙවූ මුදල් ආපසු ගෙවනු නොලැබේ. පාසල් අයදුම්කරුවන් සඳහා විදුහල්පතිගේ නිර්දේශය හෝ අත්සන අවශ්‍ය නොවේ.

What information appears in a subject-result row?

Each result row can contain a subject code, examination medium, written examination grade and School Based Assessment competency level.

A result such as 64 A 3 means Subject 64, Second Language Sinhala, Grade A and SBA Level 3. A medium letter may not be printed where a separate medium indication is not applicable.

School Based Assessment – Competency Levels

The number printed after the written examination grade represents the competency level achieved through School Based Assessment.

The written examination grade and School Based Assessment competency level are two separate results. A candidate may receive Grade A for the written examination and SBA Level 3.

The medium code appears after the subject number where it is applicable. Some language subjects may appear without a separate medium letter.

Comparison of Present and Older Grade Systems
