English Language Content Development – Resource Persons’ Pool

The English and Foreign Languages Branch of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education is establishing a pool of resource persons for English language content development.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates. Shortlisted applicants will be required to sit for a selection test as the final stage of the selection process.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants must be between 25 and 55 years of age.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in English, English Language Teaching (ELT), or Education (TESL).
SLTES English officers may apply.
English In-Service Advisers may apply.
RESC resource persons may apply.
Government English language teachers may apply.

Additional Qualifications

A Master’s degree in English or TESOL will be considered an added qualification.
Previous experience in ELT content development or working as a resource person will be considered an added qualification.

Application Procedure

Download and complete the official application form.
Prepare a soft copy of the completed application.
Email the completed application to englishunitmoe@gmail.com.

Important for government teachers: Government English language teachers must obtain the endorsement of the relevant Zonal Director of Education before submitting their applications.

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be shortlisted.
Shortlisted applicants will be notified by the Ministry.
The final selection test will be held in Colombo.
Selected candidates will receive training in content development.
They will be called for content-development assignments by the Ministry when required.

අධ්‍යාපන, උසස් අධ්‍යාපන හා වෘත්තීය අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ඉංග්‍රීසි සහ විදේශ භාෂා ශාඛාව විසින් ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂා අන්තර්ගත සංවර්ධනය සඳහා සම්පත්දායක සංචිතයක් පිහිටුවීමට අයදුම්පත් කැඳවනු ලැබේ.

මූලික සුදුසුකම්

වයස අවුරුදු 25ත් 55ත් අතර විය යුතුය.
ඉංග්‍රීසි, ඉංග්‍රීසි භාෂා ඉගැන්වීම (ELT) හෝ අධ්‍යාපනය (TESL) පිළිබඳ උපාධියක් තිබිය යුතුය.
SLTES ඉංග්‍රීසි නිලධාරීන්, ඉංග්‍රීසි ගුරු උපදේශකවරුන්, RESC සම්පත්දායකයින් සහ රජයේ ඉංග්‍රීසි ගුරුවරුන්ට අයදුම් කළ හැකිය.

ඉංග්‍රීසි හෝ TESOL පිළිබඳ පශ්චාත් උපාධියක් සහ ELT අන්තර්ගත සංවර්ධන අත්දැකීම් අමතර සුදුසුකම් ලෙස සලකනු ලැබේ.

🎓 Eligibility Requirements

🎓 MPhil

A candidate should possess one of the recognised qualifications, including:

A Bachelor's Honours Degree with at least 30 credits in the relevant field of research.
A Bachelor's Honours Degree with at least 30 credits in a related field, together with successful completion of a qualifying examination.
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 0–4 scale, together with the prescribed qualifying requirements.
A relevant Postgraduate Certificate or higher qualification such as a Postgraduate Diploma or Master's Degree.
Certain recognised National Vocational Qualifications may also be considered subject to the University's prescribed academic and qualifying requirements.

🎓 PhD

A candidate should possess one of the recognised qualifications, including:

A Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in the relevant field of research.
A Master's Degree in the relevant field containing the required research component.
A Bachelor's Honours Degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 0–4 scale, subject to requirements determined by the Senate.
An eligible MPhil candidate may be upgraded to PhD after the prescribed period where research competency is considered to be of exceptional merit.
Other recognised routes may apply subject to qualifying examinations and approval by the University of Jaffna.

Prepare your research proposal according to the University's prescribed guidelines.

📌 Hindu Dharmacharya Examination 2026 – Important Details

The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka has called for applications for the Hindu Dharmacharya Certificate Examination – 2026.

The examination is scheduled to be conducted in November 2026 and will be held only in the Tamil medium.

📌 Applications should be submitted through the relevant Hindu Araneri School. Applicants are not permitted to sit the examination by applying directly as private/external candidates.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

An applicant should possess at least one of the following qualifications:

Passed the Araneri School Final Certificate Examination.
Obtained a Pandithar qualification.
Obtained a Saiva Pulavar qualification.
Passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination with Hinduism or Hindu Civilization as one of the subjects.
Obtained a Credit Pass in Saivaneri and passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination within not more than two sittings.

⚠️ The Head/Principal of the relevant Araneri School must certify that the applicant possesses the required qualification.

📝 How to Apply

Individual candidates cannot apply directly as external candidates.
Eligible applicants should contact a nearby Hindu Araneri School.
Application forms are handled through the Heads of the relevant Araneri Schools.
Applications should be completed carefully using the details appearing in official certificates and identification documents.
Applications are prepared in two copies. The original is submitted to the Department of Examinations and the second copy is retained by the Araneri School.

🟢 First Attempt
Examination fee is not charged for eligible first-time candidates registered through the school.

🟡 Referred Subject
Rs. 50 for completing a referred subject.

🔵 Repeat / Applicable Candidates
Rs. 200 where the full examination fee is applicable.

🟣 Not Registered in School Register
Rs. 200 examination fee is applicable.

Where payment is required, the total fee should be paid at a Post Office under Department of Examinations Revenue Head 20-03-02-13, and the receipt should be attached to the application.

📖 Examination Structure

The examination consists of five question papers. Each paper is of three hours' duration and carries a total of 100 marks.

Part I: 20 questions × 2 marks = 40 marks
Part II: Answer 2 out of 4 questions = 30 marks
Part III: Answer 2 out of 4 questions = 30 marks

0 – 34 : F – Fail
35 – 54 : S – Pass
55 – 69 : C – Credit
70 – 100 : D – Distinction

Candidates are required to pass all five subjects. A candidate who fails only one subject may complete that referred subject according to the conditions given in the official notice.

🕉️ இந்து தர்மாசிரியர் பரீட்சை 2026 – முக்கிய விபரங்கள்

இலங்கைப் பரீட்சைத் திணைக்களத்தினால் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான இந்து தர்மாசிரியர் பரீட்சைக்கு விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன.

இப்பரீட்சை 2026 நவம்பர் மாதம் நடத்தப்படவுள்ளதுடன், தமிழ் மொழிமூலத்தில் மாத்திரம் நடைபெறும்.

📌 விண்ணப்பதாரர்கள் தனிப்பட்ட வெளிவாரி விண்ணப்பதாரர்களாக நேரடியாக விண்ணப்பிக்க முடியாது. தகுதியுடையவர்கள் அருகிலுள்ள அறநெறிப் பாடசாலை ஊடாக விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும்.

✅ விண்ணப்பிப்பதற்கான தகைமைகள்

கீழே குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள தகைமைகளில் ஏதேனும் ஒரு தகைமையையேனும் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.

அறநெறிப் பாடசாலை இறுதிச் சான்றிதழ்ப் பரீட்சையில் சித்தி பெற்றிருத்தல்.
பண்டிதர் பட்டம் பெற்றிருத்தல்.
சைவப்புலவர் பட்டம் பெற்றிருத்தல்.
க.பொ.த. உயர்தரப் பரீட்சையில் இந்துசமயம் அல்லது இந்துநாகரிகம் ஆகியவற்றில் ஏதேனும் ஒன்றை ஒரு பாடமாகக் கொண்டு சித்தி பெற்றிருத்தல்.
சைவநெறிப் பாடத்தில் திறமைச் சித்தி பெற்றிருப்பதுடன், இரு அமர்வுகளுக்கு மேற்படாமல் க.பொ.த. சாதாரண தரப் பரீட்சையில் 06 பாடங்களில் சித்தி பெற்றிருத்தல்.

⚠️ விண்ணப்பதாரர் மேற்குறித்த தகைமையைக் கொண்டுள்ளார் என்பதை சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அறநெறிப் பாடசாலைத் தலைமை ஆசிரியர் உறுதிப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

📝 விண்ணப்பிக்கும் முறை

நேரடியாக வெளிவாரி விண்ணப்பதாரராக விண்ணப்பிக்க முடியாது.
தகுதியுடையவர்கள் தாம் வசிக்கும் இடத்திற்கு அருகிலுள்ள அறநெறிப் பாடசாலை ஊடாக விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
விண்ணப்பங்கள் அறநெறிப் பாடசாலைத் தலைமை ஆசிரியர்களின் ஊடாக சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
விண்ணப்பப்படிவத்தில் பெயர் உள்ளிட்ட விபரங்கள் பிறப்புச் சான்றிதழ் மற்றும் உத்தியோகபூர்வ ஆவணங்களுடன் பொருந்துமாறு சரியாக நிரப்பப்பட வேண்டும்.
விண்ணப்பம் இரண்டு பிரதிகளாக பூரணப்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும். மூலப் பிரதி பரீட்சைத் திணைக்களத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்படுவதுடன் இரண்டாம் பிரதி அறநெறிப் பாடசாலையில் வைத்திருக்கப்படும்.

📖 வினாத்தாள் அமைப்பு

பரீட்சை மொத்தமாக 05 வினாத்தாள்களைக் கொண்டது. ஒவ்வொரு வினாத்தாளும் 03 மணித்தியாலங்கள் கொண்டதாக அமைவதுடன் மொத்தம் 100 புள்ளிகள் வழங்கப்படும்.

பகுதி I: 20 வினாக்கள் × 2 = 40 புள்ளிகள்
பகுதி II: 4 வினாக்களில் 2 வினாக்களுக்கு விடையளித்தல் – 30 புள்ளிகள்
பகுதி III: 4 வினாக்களில் 2 வினாக்களுக்கு விடையளித்தல் – 30 புள்ளிகள்
