📢 About the Recruitment

The Public Service Commission and the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development have called applications for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Service – 2026.

Recruitment will be made on the results of a written examination and a general interview. Appointments will be offered according to merit and the number of vacancies approved by the Public Service Commission.

✅ Basic Eligibility

Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Must be of excellent character.
Must be physically and mentally fit to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
Must not be a member of the clergy of any religious denomination.
Must not have appeared for this open competitive examination more than two times.
All required qualifications must be completed on or before the closing date.

Educational / Professional Qualification

Applicants must possess at least one of the following:

A degree with a First Class or Second Class pass awarded by a recognized state or foreign university, a university established by an Act of Parliament, or an institution recognized under Section 25A of the Universities Act. The minimum period of study must be three years;
Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka; or
Chartered Accountant.

🎂 Age Limit

General applicants: not less than 22 years and not more than 28 years on 31 August 2026.
Eligible date of birth range: 31 August 1998 to 31 August 2004, inclusive.
Officers serving in the Public Service or Provincial Public Service: maximum age limit is 35 years, subject to the conditions stated in the Gazette.

💼 Appointment and Salary

The post is permanent and pensionable.
The appointment is subject to a three-year probation period.
Monthly salary scale: Rs. 82,150 – 10×2,400 – 8×2,940 – 17×3,900 – Rs. 195,970 (SL-1-2025).
Selected officers must satisfy the required Efficiency Bar and official-language proficiency requirements within the prescribed period.
