  • Priority order: A grade, then B grade, then C grade

Selection Method

  • 50% of vacancies will be filled on national basis
  • 50% of vacancies will be filled on district basis
  • Selections will be based on Z-score order and course qualifications
  • Eligible applicants will be called for interview
  • Practical test and physical/mental suitability will be assessed
  • Permanent residence will be checked according to Gazette instructions

  • 3 years residential institutional training
  • 1 year internship training attached to a school and technical institution
  • Meals and lodging facilities worth Rs.10,500 per month during residential period

Shishyadhara 2026 dealer instructions and Android app for stationery allowance


The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has introduced the Shishyadhara 2026 School Stationery Allowance Programme to support school-age children across Sri Lanka. Under this programme, registered dealers can provide stationery items through a QR code and OTP verification system using the official “Shishyadhara” Android Application. Dealers are required to complete registration through the mobile app and follow the official instructions issued by the Ministry. School Stationery Allowance Programme – 2026

Programme Overview

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has introduced the Shishyadhara 2026 School Stationery Allowance Programme to support school-age children in purchasing stationery items through registered dealers using QR codes and OTP verification.

QR Code Usage Period: 29.04.2026 – 30.06.2026

Important Instructions for Dealers

  • Dealers must register only through the “Shishyadhara” Android App.
  • During registration, dealers must upload:
    • Business Registration Certificate OR Grama Niladhari Certificate
    • Bank Account Details
  • Dealers should correctly enter: Bank Name, Branch, Branch Code, Account Number, Account Holder Name.
  • Registration confirmation will be completed within 02 days.
  • School stationery can be sold only through:
    • QR Code Scanning
    • Entering QR Number
  • Transaction confirmation will be done using an OTP sent to the parent/guardian mobile phone.
  • Dealers must issue stationery only after OTP confirmation.
  • Each QR code can be used a maximum of 03 times.
  • Dealers must check the remaining balance before issuing stationery.
  • Payments will be credited to the dealer’s bank account once every 02 weeks.
  • Bills related to stationery sales should be uploaded to the app.
  • No payment will be made for transactions completed outside the app.
  • Registered dealers should display a notice showing they are part of the Shishyadhara 2026 Programme.

Applicants who completed the online application and paid the examination fee before the deadline, but failed to send the certified printed copy to the Department of Examinations, are given another opportunity to submit their applications before 15 May 2026.

According to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, applicants who completed the online application for the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service Grade III Limited Competitive Examination – 2025 within the prescribed period, but failed to send the certified printed copy to the Department of Examinations before the closing date, and therefore did not receive admission cards, are given another opportunity to submit their applications.

  • No new applications will be accepted.
  • This opportunity is only for applicants who completed the online application and paid the examination fee on or before 02 January 2026.
  • Applicants must possess the printed copy of their application.
  • The printed application must be certified by the Head of the Institution.
  • The application should be sent via Registered Post.

  • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree of 4 years or more with Second-Class Upper Division or above
  • Institution: Recognized University / Higher Education Institution by UGC Sri Lanka
  • English: G.C.E. A/L English Language minimum “C” pass or equivalent
  • Medium: English / Japanese
  • Allowance: 144,000 yen per month
  • Selection: Written test in English Language and Japanese Language, followed by structured interview

Research Students – PhD

  • Eligibility: Sri Lankan citizen

General Benefits
