Educational Qualifications

G.C.E. O/L: Pass six subjects in one sitting, including four credit passes covering Mathematics and the relevant language.

Aptitude – 100 marks, 1 hour.

The North Central Provincial Public Service Commission has invited applications for recruitment to Internal Audit Officer – Grade III in the Department of Internal Audit and Investigation, North Central Province.

Two separate competitive examinations have been announced:

Applicants must select the appropriate recruitment stream based on their qualifications and service experience. The two streams have separate official notices and application forms.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess at least one of the following:

A degree from a UGC-recognized university in Accounting, Management, Commerce, Public Finance and Taxation, Mathematics or Economics.
Successful completion of the prescribed Foundation or Intermediate Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, or the Intermediate Examination of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
A Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or Commerce from SLIATE.

Other Requirements

Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
Must have permanent residence in the North Central Province for the three years immediately before the application deadline, subject to the spouse-residence provision in the notice.
Must have good character and health.
Must be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in the province.
Must satisfy all qualifications by the closing date.

Age Requirements

Minimum 22 years and maximum 35 years as at 19 October 2026.

Recruitment Method

Selection is based on a competitive written examination, verification of qualifications and merit order.

The official recruitment scheme allocates 70% of the relevant vacancies to the Open stream, subject to the Commission's decisions and provisions.

02. Limited Competitive Examination – 2026

Who Can Apply?

The Limited Competitive Examination is intended for eligible officers already serving under the North Central Provincial Council who meet the prescribed educational, professional and service requirements.

Educational, Professional and Service Qualifications

The official notice specifies alternative qualification routes involving the following educational or professional qualifications and service categories:

A recognized degree in Accounting, Management, Commerce, Public Finance and Taxation, Mathematics or Economics.
The prescribed Foundation or Intermediate qualification of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
The Intermediate qualification of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
A Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or Commerce from SLIATE, subject to the relevant service-category conditions.

Service Experience

The notice specifies alternative eligibility routes for officers with confirmed service under the North Central Provincial Council, including:

At least 03 years of service under the prescribed qualification and service-category route.
At least 05 years of service under the alternative prescribed route.

The eligible routes also refer to Development Officers, officers serving in posts for which a degree is a qualification, and officers of the Provincial Public Management Service, as specified in the notice.

Important: Having three or five years of service alone does not automatically establish eligibility. Applicants must satisfy the exact combination of qualifications, confirmed service, service category and experience stated in the official Limited notice.

Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
Must meet the three-year permanent residence requirement in the North Central Province, subject to the spouse-residence provision.
Must be physically and mentally fit and of good character.
Must not have received disciplinary punishment other than a warning during the three years immediately preceding the filling of vacancies.
Must comply with the remaining eligibility conditions in the notice.

Age Requirements

Minimum age: 22 years. The official Limited notice specifies no maximum age limit.

Recruitment Method

Selection is based on a written competitive examination and a general interview to verify qualifications.

The Limited stream is allocated 30% of the relevant vacancies. If insufficient qualified candidates are available under this stream, the balance may be filled from qualified Open Competitive Examination candidates according to the official notice.

03. Written Examination – Subjects & Marks

Both recruitment notices list the following five examination subjects. Each paper carries 100 marks and the stipulated pass-mark percentage is 40%.

The salary scale specified for Internal Audit Officer Grade III is MN 4 – 2025.

Must be a Sri Lankan citizen and a permanent resident of the Central Province.

To compete under a district, the applicant must have lived permanently in that Central Province district for at least three continuous years within the five years immediately preceding the qualification closing date.
Must possess the required physical and mental fitness and be able to serve anywhere in the Central Province.

Educational Qualifications

G.C.E. O/L: Pass six subjects in one sitting, with credit passes in four subjects including Mathematics and the relevant Language (Sinhala, Tamil or English).
G.C.E. A/L: Pass all subjects at one sitting, excluding the Common General Test. Under the old syllabus, passes in three subjects at one sitting are sufficient.
All prescribed qualifications must be completed on or before 16 October 2026.

Educational Qualifications

G.C.E. Ordinary Level:

Must have passed six subjects in one sitting, including Sinhala, Tamil or English Language, Science and Mathematics.
Credit passes must have been obtained for the Language, Science, Mathematics and one other subject.

G.C.E. Advanced Level:

Must have passed three subjects in one sitting in the Mathematics or Technology stream.
The subjects must include at least two of the following: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Combined Mathematics or Physics.
General Test and General English are not counted.

Professional Qualification

The applicant must possess one of the following:

National Diploma in Technology awarded by the University of Moratuwa or Hardy College of Technology, Ampara; or
Another technical qualification recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission as equivalent in all respects.

Salary Scale: Rs. 52,250 – 10×800 – 11×1,190 – 10×1,320 – 10×1,350 – Rs. 100,040

Examination Fee

The examination fee is Rs. 1,000. It must be paid to the Secretary, Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission at any Divisional Secretariat situated within the Eastern Province.

The payment receipt must be uploaded when submitting the online application. The original receipt must also be attached to the printed application. Examination fees will not be refunded or transferred.

Aptitude Test: 100 marks – 1 hour – Pass mark 40%
Subject-related Technical Test: 100 marks – 2 hours – Pass mark 40%

Applicants must obtain at least 40% for each question paper. The examination will be conducted in Sinhala and Tamil. The selected examination medium cannot be changed later.

The Southern Provincial Public Service Commission has invited online applications for the Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to vacancies in Grade III of Class 3 of the Southern Provincial Information and Communication Technology Service.

The written examination is expected to be held in November 2026 at an examination centre established in Galle Town.

Appointment and Salary

The post is permanent and pensionable.
The appointment is subject to a probationary period of three years.
A minimum service period of three years at the first place of appointment is compulsory, subject to the appointing authority’s decisions.
Salary Code: MT 01-2025.
Monthly salary scale: Rs. 50,090 – Rs. 84,420.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should have:

Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects at not more than two sittings.
Obtained five credit passes, including Language, Mathematics and English Language.

Professional Qualifications

Applicants should have completed one of the following:

A Diploma, Higher Diploma or higher course relevant to Computer Science, Information Technology or Information and Communication Technology from a university or degree-awarding institution recognized by the University Grants Commission;
A recognized Diploma or higher course, or a course of at least 1,500 hours, in Computer, IT or ICT;
NVQ Level 5 or above in Computer, IT or ICT from an institution recognized and registered with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission; or
A recognized course of at least 1,500 hours in the relevant field from an eligible institution.

Experience: Not applicable.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age as at 18 September 2026.

Applicants must have been born on or before 18 September 2008.
Applicants must have been born on or after 18 September 1991.

Residence and Other Requirements

Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka and possess good character and health.
Applicants must possess the required physical and mental fitness to serve in any part of the Southern Province.
Applicants should have been permanent residents of a district in the Southern Province continuously for three years within the five years immediately preceding the closing date, subject to the marriage-related residence provisions stated in the official notice.
All required qualifications must have been completed on or before 18 September 2026.

Candidates must obtain at least 40% in each paper and at least 50% of the total aggregate marks. The examination will be available in Sinhala, Tamil and English media. All papers must be answered in the selected medium.

The examination fee is Rs. 1,000 and must be paid online using an accepted VISA or MasterCard. Fees paid will not be refunded or transferred to another examination.
