Competitive Examination under the Merit Stream

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has called applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service under the Merit Stream – 2026.
A total of 10 vacancies in Grade III of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service are expected to be filled through this recruitment.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants should satisfy one of the following service requirements:
- Be an officer holding a permanent and pensionable post in the Supra Class of the Management Service Officers’ Service or Provincial Management Service Officers’ Service;
- OR
- Be an officer with at least 20 years of active and satisfactory service in the Management Service Officers’ Service or Provincial Management Service Officers’ Service, including at least 10 years of active and satisfactory service in Grade I.
Other Important Qualifications
- Applicant should be not more than 55 years of age.
- The applicant should have been confirmed in the relevant service/post.
- The applicant should possess a satisfactory service record and should not have been subjected to disciplinary punishment during the entire period of service, subject to the relevant Public Service Commission provisions.
- All salary increments during the immediately preceding five years should have been earned.
- All qualifications required for the examination should have been completed in every respect as at 10 August 2026.
- A candidate is not permitted to sit the Merit Stream competitive recruitment examination more than three times.
- Officers who have retired before the closing date are not eligible.
Method of Recruitment
Recruitment will be based on the total marks obtained from:
- Written Examination
- Evaluation of Seniority
- Structured Interview
Candidates will be selected according to merit based on the aggregate marks obtained from these components and subject to the number of available vacancies.
Written Examination
The written examination consists of three question papers. Candidates must sit for all three papers.

Candidates must obtain at least 50 marks in each subject to satisfy the required pass standard.
Examination Medium
The examination will be conducted in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Candidates should answer all question papers in one language medium. The examination medium indicated in the application cannot subsequently be changed.
Salary Scale
The monthly salary scale applicable to the post under SL-1-2025 is:
Other allowances payable to public officers by the Government from time to time will also be applicable.
The post is permanent and pensionable and the appointment is subject to a one-year probation period.
Examination Fee
Examination Fee: Rs. 1,200
The fee can be paid through the payment methods available in the online system, including:

ශ්රී ලංකා පරිපාලන සේවයේ III ශ්රේණියට බඳවා ගැනීම – 2026
කුසලතා ධාරාව යටතේ ශ්රී ලංකා පරිපාලන සේවයේ III ශ්රේණියට බඳවා ගැනීම සඳහා වන තරග විභාගය – 2026 සඳහා අයදුම්පත් කැඳවා ඇත. පවතින පුරප්පාඩු සංඛ්යාව 10කි.
අයදුම් කළ හැකි ප්රධාන කාණ්ඩ:
- කළමනාකරණ සේවා නිලධාරී සේවයේ හෝ පළාත් කළමනාකරණ සේවා නිලධාරී සේවයේ අධි පන්තියේ ස්ථිර හා විශ්රාම වැටුප් සහිත තනතුරක සේවය කරන නිලධාරියකු වීම;
- හෝ
- එම සේවයක අවම වශයෙන් වසර 20ක සක්රීය හා සතුටුදායක සේවා කාලයක් සහ එයින් I ශ්රේණියේ අවම වශයෙන් වසර 10ක සේවා කාලයක් සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබීම.
උපරිම වයස අවුරුදු 55 වන අතර අවශ්ය සියලු සුදුසුකම් 2026.08.10 දිනට සම්පූර්ණ කර තිබිය යුතුය.
ලිඛිත විභාගය ප්රශ්න පත්ර 03කින් සමන්විත වේ:
- සාමාන්ය බුද්ධිය
- ආයතන සංග්රහය හා රාජ්ය සේවා කොමිෂන් සභා කාර්ය පටිපාටික රීති
- රජයේ මුදල් රෙගුලාසි හා ප්රසම්පාදන ක්රියාවලිය
සෑම විෂයකින්ම අවම වශයෙන් ලකුණු 50 ලබාගත යුතුය. විභාගය 2026 නොවැම්බර් මාසයේ කොළඹදී පමණක් පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.
විභාග ගාස්තුව රු. 1,200 කි.
මාර්ගගත අයදුම්පත් භාර ගැනීම 2026.08.14 පෙ.ව. 9.00 සිට ආරම්භ වන අතර 2026.09.14 ප.ව. 9.00 ට අවසන් වේ.

திறமை அடிப்படையில் இலங்கை நிர்வாக சேவையின் தரம் III இற்கு ஆட்சேர்ப்பு செய்வதற்கான போட்டிப் பரீட்சை – 2026 இற்கு விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. மொத்தம் 10 வெற்றிடங்கள் உள்ளன.
பிரதான தகைமைகள்:
- முகாமைத்துவ சேவை உத்தியோகத்தர் சேவை அல்லது மாகாண முகாமைத்துவ சேவை உத்தியோகத்தர் சேவையின் உயர் வகுப்பில் நிரந்தர மற்றும் ஓய்வூதியத்துடன் கூடிய பதவியில் பணிபுரியும் உத்தியோகத்தராக இருத்தல்;
- அல்லது
- குறித்த சேவையில் குறைந்தது 20 வருடங்கள் செயற்பாடான மற்றும் திருப்திகரமான சேவைக்காலம் கொண்டிருத்தல் மற்றும் அதில் தரம் I இல் குறைந்தது 10 வருடங்கள் செயற்பாடான மற்றும் திருப்திகரமான சேவைக்காலம் கொண்டிருத்தல்.
விண்ணப்பதாரரின் வயது 55 வயதிற்கு மேற்படக்கூடாது. தேவையான அனைத்து தகைமைகளும் 10.08.2026 அன்று பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.
எழுத்துப் பரீட்சை பின்வரும் 03 வினாத்தாள்களைக் கொண்டது:

- தாபன விதிக்கோவை மற்றும் பொதுச் சேவை ஆணைக்குழுவின் நடைமுறை விதிகள்
- அரச நிதி ஒழுங்குகள் மற்றும் அரச கொள்முதல் நடைமுறை
ஒவ்வொரு பாடத்திலும் குறைந்தது 50 புள்ளிகள் பெற வேண்டும். பரீட்சை 2026 நவம்பர் மாதத்தில் கொழும்பில் மாத்திரம் நடைபெறவுள்ளது.
பரீட்சைக் கட்டணம் ரூ. 1,200.
Online விண்ணப்பங்கள் 14.08.2026 காலை 9.00 மணி முதல் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டு, 14.09.2026 இரவு 9.00 மணி வரை சமர்ப்பிக்கலாம்.
