The National Institute of Education (NIE) has invited applications for admission to the Special Education Diploma Course – 2026.
The programme is designed for personnel working in education and related fields who wish to develop professional knowledge and skills in Special Education.

Eligibility – Important Details
Applicants should meet the conditions specified by the National Institute of Education. Important requirements mentioned in the notice include:
- Applicants should be below 55 years of age as at 30.10.2026.
- Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
- Officers of the Sri Lanka Teachers' Service may apply.
- Officers of the Sri Lanka Principals' Service or Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service may apply.
- Officers in the relevant Teacher Education / Teacher Advisory services may apply.
- Relevant academic staff of the National Institute of Education may also be eligible.
- Personnel serving in schools or institutions working with children with special educational needs may apply subject to the conditions in the official notice.
Suitable applicants may be selected through a written examination, interview, or either of these selection methods according to the requirements of the National Institute of Education.
Course Fees
📝 Registration Fee: Rs. 1,000.00
🎓 Course Fee: Rs. 50,000.00
The course fee can be paid in two instalments according to the notice.
Payment: The relevant payments can be made online using Credit or Debit Cards.

- 👤 2026.10.30 දිනට වයස අවුරුදු 55 ට අඩු විය යුතුය.
- 📚 අ.පො.ස. (සා.පෙළ) සමත් විය යුතුය.
- ගුරු සේවය, විදුහල්පති සේවය, අධ්යාපන පරිපාලන සේවය සහ අදාළ අධ්යාපන සේවාවන්හි නිලධාරීන්ට කොන්දේසි අනුව අයදුම් කළ හැක.
- විශේෂ අධ්යාපන අවශ්යතා සහිත දරුවන් සමඟ කටයුතු කරන පාසල්/ආයතනවල සුදුසු නිලධාරීන්ටද අයදුම් කළ හැක.

- ⏳ கற்கைநெறிக் காலம் – ஒரு வருடம் (வார இறுதி நாட்கள்)
- 🎓 SLQF மட்டம் – Level 3
- 🗣 பயிற்று மொழி – தமிழ்
- 👤 30.10.2026 அன்று வயது 55 வருடங்களுக்கு குறைவாக இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
- 📚 க.பொ.த. (சா/த) பரீட்சையில் சித்தியடைந்திருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
- இலங்கை ஆசிரியர் சேவை, அதிபர் சேவை, கல்வி நிர்வாக சேவை மற்றும் தொடர்புடைய கல்விச் சேவைகளின் தகுதியான உத்தியோகத்தர்கள் நிபந்தனைகளுக்கு அமைவாக விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
- விசேட கல்வித் தேவையுடைய பிள்ளைகளுடன் பணியாற்றும் பாடசாலைகள் / நிறுவனங்களின் தகுதியான உத்தியோகத்தர்களும் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.
