The University of Tsukuba, Japan has invited applications for its Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) for the 2027–2029 intake.

PEPP is an English-taught postgraduate programme leading to a Master of Arts in International Public Policy. The programme is designed to develop professionals capable of designing, analysing and implementing economic and public policies.

The programme gives particular emphasis to economics, econometrics, quantitative policy analysis and modern data-driven approaches.

📝 Academic Requirements During the Programme

Students undertake advanced coursework and research in economics and public policy and are required to prepare a master's thesis based on rigorous quantitative analysis.

Students who successfully complete the required coursework (at least 30 credits) and pass the thesis oral examination will be awarded the MA in International Public Policy.

📚 Important Educational Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the relevant G.C.E. (O/L) requirements specified for the selected course.
Generally, six O/L subjects must be passed with the required Credit Passes in Sinhala/Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science and other specified subjects, within not more than two sittings.
Eligible A/L examination years are 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, subject to the conditions stated in the official notice.
Applicants must satisfy the exact subject combinations and grades required for each training course.

Applicant must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
Applicant should be of good character.
Applicant should be physically and mentally fit.
Applicants should generally have been permanent residents of the relevant district for the three consecutive years immediately before the closing date.

Candidates should be willing to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.

A relevant educational or professional qualification equivalent to the above requirements, together with acceptable prior learning or work experience.
Completion of NVQ Level 7, as determined by the University of Colombo.

Applicants must also have a good knowledge of English and perform satisfactorily at the selection test and/or selection interview.
