Qualifications
Category 01 - Obtained Bachelor of Education Degree (SLQF 6) with a minimum GPA of 2.7 or at least five B passes
Category 02 - Obtained any Bachelor's Degree (SLQF 5 or 6) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a minimum GPA of 2.7 or at least five B passes in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
Category 03 - Obtained any Bachelor's Degree (SLQF 5 or 6) with a class designation and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
AND
one of the following categories;
- Sri Lanka Teacher Service (SLTS)
- Sri Lanka In-Service Advisor Service (SLISAS)
- Sri Lanka Principal Service (SLPS)
- Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service (SLEAS)
- Sri Lanka Teacher Educator Service (SLTES)
- Full-time Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, Assistant Lecturers, and Probationary Lecturers of a recognized university or an approved higher education Institute.
- Heads and teachers of semi-government schools/government-approved private schools/international schools (approved by the Ministry of Education) / Pirivenas and other government religious institutes.
And
must have at least three years of continuous service from the date of initial appointment.
Note: If a foreign university offers a degree through a local agency, the study programme should be accredited by the relevant authority of the respective foreign country through the Sri Lankan embassy and the degree certificate should be attested by the consular division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka.
Submission of online application:
- Online Application and Programme Handbook can be obtained from www.teachereducation.lk, the official website of the Department of Teacher Education, National Institute of Education.
- A copy of the application form will be sent to your email after successfully submitting your application online. Please print it and bring it to the interview, signed by your school principal or head of the institute and the Zonal Director of Education. Attach the payment receipt, for Rs. 2,000/- application fee.
- Application fee of Rs. 2,000/- can be paid at any branch of the Bank of Ceylon using the payment reference number ME25A00000A1 of the special deposit slip of the National Institute of Education which will be available at any Bank of Ceylon branch.
