Applications are invited by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education for admission of 210 student teachers to the National College of Education on Technology, Kuliyapitiya, to follow a four-year Pre-Service Bachelor of Education Degree Course in English Medium, based on 2024 G.C.E. A/L results.

General Eligibility
- Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
- Should have good character and good physical/mental health
- Age should not be more than 25 years as at 01.01.2026
- Should be unmarried
Basic Education Qualifications
- Passed 3 main subjects in one sitting at 2024 G.C.E. A/L
- Passed 6 subjects at G.C.E. O/L including Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics
- 3 Credit passes required
- Simple pass in English Language or English Literature is compulsory
Available Courses
Course 01 – Engineering Technology
- Engineering Technology / Science for Technology / approved Technology stream subject
- OR Physical Science stream: Combined Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- OR Combined Mathematics / Advanced Mathematics with Physics
- Selection priority: 60% / 30% / 10% according to Gazette rules
Course 02 – Bio Systems Technology
- Bio Systems Technology / Science for Technology / approved Technology stream subject
- OR Biology, Physics/Agriculture and Chemistry
- OR two subjects from Biology, Physics, Agriculture and Chemistry
- Selection priority: 60% / 30% / 10% according to Gazette rules
Course 03 – Information Technology
- ICT as a main subject at 2024 G.C.E. A/L
- Any two other A/L subjects
- Interview priority based on ICT grade and marks
- Priority order: A grade, then B grade, then C grade
Selection Method
- 50% of vacancies will be filled on national basis
- 50% of vacancies will be filled on district basis
- Selections will be based on Z-score order and course qualifications
- Eligible applicants will be called for interview
- Practical test and physical/mental suitability will be assessed
- Permanent residence will be checked according to Gazette instructions
Course Conditions
- 3 years residential institutional training
- 1 year internship training attached to a school and technical institution
- Meals and lodging facilities worth Rs.10,500 per month during residential period
- Rs.10,500 monthly allowance during internship year
- Bond and agreement value: Rs.1,500,000
Not Eligible to Apply
- Already appointed or selected as a teacher
- Those who followed/deserted NCoE courses
- Internal students of State Universities / State University Institutes
- Those registered through UGC online system for university admission
- Married or divorced applicants
