Programme Overview

The Department of Linguistics, University of Kelaniya, invites applications for Batch 15 of the Diploma in Translation and Interpretation for the academic year 2026/2027. The programme provides theoretical knowledge and practical training required for translators and interpreters.

Course Streams

1. Tamil–Sinhala and Sinhala–Tamil Translation — for candidates proficient in Sinhala and Tamil.
2. English–Sinhala and Sinhala–English Translation — for candidates proficient in English and Sinhala.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the University, or have 10 years of relevant work experience.

• Course fee: Rs. 75,000
• Payable in three instalments: Rs. 30,000 + Rs. 25,000 + Rs. 20,000
• Application fee: Rs. 1,000

සිංහල සාරාංශය

කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ වාග්විද්‍යා අධ්‍යයන අංශය විසින් 2026/2027 අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂය සඳහා භාෂා පරිවර්තන හා භාෂණ පරිවර්තන ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාවේ 15 වන කණ්ඩායමට අයදුම්පත් කැඳවනු ලැබේ.

• අයදුම්පත් භාරගැනීම: 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 20 සිට ඔක්තෝබර් 20 දක්වා
• පාඨමාලාව ආරම්භය: 2026 දෙසැම්බර්
• කාලය: එක් අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂයක්; සෙනසුරාදා දිනවල කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ දේශන පැවැත්වේ. ඇතැම් දේශන මාර්ගගතව පැවැත්වේ.
• විෂය ධාරා: දෙමළ–සිංහල / සිංහල–දෙමළ සහ ඉංග්‍රීසි–සිංහල / සිංහල–ඉංග්‍රීසි පරිවර්තනය.
• පාඨමාලා ගාස්තුව: රු. 75,000 (රු. 30,000 + රු. 25,000 + රු. 20,000 වාරික ලෙස ගෙවිය හැක).
• සුදුසුකම්: උසස් පෙළ සමත් වීම, පිළිගත් සමාන සුදුසුකමක් හෝ අදාළ ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ වසර 10ක සේවා පළපුරුද්ද.
• අයදුම්පත් ගාස්තුව: රු. 1,000

களனிப் பல்கலைக்கழக மொழியியல் திணைக்களம் 2026/2027 கல்வியாண்டிற்கான மொழிபெயர்ப்பு மற்றும் உரைபெயர்ப்பு டிப்ளோமா பாடநெறியின் 15ஆம் தொகுதிக்கு விண்ணப்பங்களைக் கோருகிறது.

• விண்ணப்ப காலம்: 20 செப்டம்பர் முதல் 20 ஒக்டோபர் 2026 வரை
• பாடநெறி ஆரம்பம்: டிசம்பர் 2026
• காலம்: ஓர் கல்வியாண்டு; சனிக்கிழமைகளில் களனிப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நேரடி வகுப்புகள் நடைபெறும். சில வகுப்புகள் நிகழ்நிலையிலும் நடைபெறும்.
• பாடப் பிரிவுகள்: தமிழ்–சிங்களம் / சிங்களம்–தமிழ் மற்றும் ஆங்கிலம்–சிங்களம் / சிங்களம்–ஆங்கிலம் மொழிபெயர்ப்பு.
• பாடநெறிக் கட்டணம்: ரூ. 75,000 (ரூ. 30,000 + ரூ. 25,000 + ரூ. 20,000 என மூன்று தவணைகளில் செலுத்தலாம்).
• தகைமை: க.பொ.த. உயர்தரப் பரீட்சையில் சித்தி, பல்கலைக்கழகம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் சமமான தகைமை அல்லது தொடர்புடைய துறையில் 10 வருட அனுபவம்.
• விண்ணப்பக் கட்டணம்: ரூ. 1,000

How to Apply

1. Complete and submit the online application.
2. Use the specimen receipt generated after submission to pay the Rs. 1,000 application fee to the stated People’s Bank account.
3. Print the application and attach the bank receipt plus copies of your Birth Certificate, NIC and G.C.E. A/L Certificate.
4. Send the documents by Registered Post so that they reach the University before 20 October 2026.
5. Write the course name on the top-left corner of the envelope.
