ITUM Director Vacancy 2026 – Full Details

Applications are invited from suitably qualified eminent persons for the post of Director, Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa (ITUM), Diyagama, Homagama. Candidates from within or outside the university system may apply, subject to University Grants Commission Circular No. 01/2024 dated 01 January 2024.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
• Eminent persons in the university system or outside it are eligible to apply.
• The applicant must be less than 63 years of age as at the closing date.
• Selection will be conducted according to UGC Circular No. 01/2024.

Role and Responsibilities

The Director is a full-time officer and serves as the Institute’s Principal Executive Officer, Principal Academic Officer and Accounting Officer. The appointee is also an ex-officio member of the Board of Management and Board of Study.

• Provide academic and administrative leadership.
• Maintain discipline within the Institute.
• Implement decisions of the Board of Management.
• Coordinate with relevant ministries, the UGC and higher educational institutions.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary Scale: U-AC 5 (II) – Rs. 198,280 – 13 × 4,850 – Rs. 261,330 per month.
• Official transport and entertainment allowance.
• Provident Fund: 15% employer contribution and 10% employee contribution.
• Employees’ Trust Fund: 3% employer contribution.
• If a retired professor is appointed, the salary and allowances applicable to the post will be paid.

1. Full curriculum vitae, including date of birth, with a certified copy of the birth certificate.
2. A statement of vision for the Institute’s development and a brief account of what the applicant proposes to achieve if appointed.
3. If the incumbent Director applies, or the applicant previously held the post, a report on achievements during the first term.
4. Applicants serving in the Public Sector, Corporations, Statutory Bodies or Higher Educational Institutions must include an employer’s letter confirming whether they can be released if appointed.
