1. General Manager – HM 2-1

Qualifications for External Applicants

• A degree in any subject from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission.
• A postgraduate qualification of not less than Master of Arts or Master of Science level from a recognised university.

Experience

• At least 18 years of experience in a managerial-level position in the Government, a Government Corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or reputed private-sector institution.
• At least five years of the required experience must have been obtained after receiving the postgraduate degree.

Internal Applicants

• Must possess the qualifications required for external applicants.
• Must have at least five years of experience as a Deputy General Manager of the Paddy Marketing Board.
• Must have earned all salary increments on the due dates and must not have been subjected to disciplinary action during the relevant service period.

Other Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of English and computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of administration, management, accountancy, sales promotion and publicity will receive special consideration.

2. Deputy General Manager (Finance) – HM 1-1

Qualifications for External Applicants

• A recognised bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Public Administration and Finance, Business Administration, Management or Law;
• Or completion of the Intermediate, Cost and Management or Accountants Step III professional qualification specified in the official advertisement.
• A postgraduate degree relevant to Accountancy or Financial Management is also required.

Experience

• At least 15 years of experience in the relevant field in an executive-level position in the Government, a Government Corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or reputed private-sector institution.
• At least three years of the required experience must have been obtained after receiving the postgraduate degree.

Internal Applicants

• Must have completed five years of satisfactory service in Grade I of the Management Services Category – MM 1-1.
• Must have earned all salary increments on the due dates and must not have been subjected to disciplinary action during the relevant service period.

Other Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of English and computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of administration, management, accountancy, sales promotion and publicity will receive special consideration.

General Conditions

• Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post and serve in any part of the island.
• Applicants must possess an excellent character.
• The positions are permanent and include Employees’ Provident Fund and Employees’ Trust Fund benefits.
• All required qualifications must have been completed by the closing date.
• Applicants already employed in state institutions must submit their applications through the heads of their institutions.
• Recruitment will be based on a structured interview and/or written examination.

Successful candidates will be placed on the salary step applicable to the year 2026 under Management Services Circular No. 1/2025 dated 25 March 2025.
