Driving Licence & Experience

Applicants should possess a valid driving licence for heavy vehicles issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic and should have at least three years of driving experience after obtaining the licence.

Age Limit

Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age.

Salary Scale

U-PL 3 (III): Rs. 48,005 – 16 × 490 – Rs. 55,845 per month

In addition, eligible allowances approved for university employees, including the cost-of-living allowance, will be paid according to applicable regulations.

Selection Method

Recruitment will be made through a practical/professional test and a structured interview.

Educational qualifications

Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, including Sinhala and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Technical qualifications and experience

A valid licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic to drive all heavy vehicles.
At least three years of experience obtained after receiving the driving licence.
General knowledge of motor mechanics, good eyesight and a minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches.

Internal applicants

Employees in Primary Non-Skilled Service Categories who possess the required driving licence and experience may apply.

Age and selection

Above 18 and below 45 years. The maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants. Selection will be through a structured interview and a professional competency test.

Salary

Rs. 43,280 - 67,040 (applicable from 01.01.2027). Salary payable as at 01.01.2026: Rs. 40,834.

2. Office Assistant (PL 1) - 02 Posts

Educational qualifications

Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination, including Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

Age and selection

Not less than 18 and not more than 45 years. Applicants will be selected through a structured interview.

Salary

Rs. 40,500 - 62,530 (applicable from 01.01.2027). Salary payable as at 01.01.2026: Rs. 38,488.

General Conditions

Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens of excellent character.
Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
These are permanent posts and are subject to a probationary period.

Post 01: Driver (Contract)

Educational and Other Qualifications

Passed G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in 6 subjects with 2 credit passes, in not more than two sittings.
Age between 21 and 45 years.
Possess a valid heavy vehicle driving licence that is more than 3 years old.
Minimum weight: 45 kg.
Minimum height: 5 feet 3 inches.
Must be in perfect health.
Experience obtained at a reputed institution as a heavy-vehicle driver will be an additional qualification.

Post 02: Conductor (Contract)

Educational and Other Qualifications

Passed G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in 6 subjects with 2 credit passes, including Mathematics and Mother Tongue, in not more than two sittings.
Age between 18 and 45 years.
Minimum weight: 41 kg.
Minimum height: 5 feet.
Must be in perfect health.

Salary, Allowances & Facilities

Monthly basic contract stipend: Driver – Rs. 40,834.
Monthly basic contract stipend: Conductor – Rs. 40,008.
Cost-of-living allowance of Rs. 17,800, overtime and incentive payments will also be paid.
After recruitment, employees will be deployed on work-rotation basis.
A permit will be provided for travel to and from the service station within a 30 km radius after appointment.
Employee contribution to EPF is 8%, while the employer contributes 12%. The employer also contributes 3% to ETF.

Important Conditions

Recruitment will be based on a practical test, interview and Board-approved training course.
After appointment, the assigned service station will not be changed.
Recruitment is made region-wise. If a region has insufficient applicants, vacancies may be filled from another region.
Applicants must submit a school-leaving certificate or student-work performance certificate with the application.
Do not pay any person or institution for this recruitment.

Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at not more than two sittings.
The passes should include Sinhala or Tamil Language and at least two Credit passes.

🚘 Driving Licence & Experience

Applicants must possess a valid driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic covering the vehicle classes specified in the official notice.
The required driving licence should have been obtained at least three years before recruitment.
Applicants should have a good knowledge of road rules and traffic signs.
A minimum of three years' experience as a driver after obtaining the licence is required.
Driving experience should be supported by an acceptable experience certificate.

Salaries will be paid according to the relevant approved salary scales.

Apart from the basic salary, employees will receive the government-approved cost of living allowance.
