The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates for a large number of Driver and Conductor vacancies on a contract basis.

Vacancies are available at depots belonging to all regions of the Sri Lanka Transport Board. Priority will be given to applicants from the respective local areas.

🚍 01. Driver – Contract Basis

Educational & Other Qualifications

G.C.E. (O/L) – Pass in 6 subjects with 2 Credit Passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Age should be between 21 and 45 years.
Should possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence for more than 3 years.
Minimum weight: 45 kg.
Minimum height: 5 feet 3 inches.
Should be in good health.
Experience as a Heavy Passenger Vehicle Driver from a recognized institution will be considered an added advantage.

💰 Monthly Basic Contract Allowance: Rs. 40,834/-

🎫 02. Conductor – Contract Basis

Educational & Other Qualifications

G.C.E. (O/L) – Pass in 6 subjects including Mathematics and Mother Tongue with 2 Credit Passes, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Age should be between 18 and 45 years.
Minimum weight: 41 kg.
Minimum height: 5 feet.
Should be in good health.

💰 Monthly Basic Contract Allowance: Rs. 40,008/-

💼 General Conditions & Benefits

Employee contribution to EPF – 8% and employer contribution 12%.
Employer contribution to ETF – 3%.
Cost of Living Allowance of Rs. 17,800/-, overtime and incentive allowances will be paid in addition to the basic contract allowance.
Duty assignments will be made on a roster basis.
Recruitment will be based on an interview, practical test and results of the training programme according to Sri Lanka Transport Board procedures.
Transfers will not be entertained after appointment.
A travel pass will be issued for travelling within 30 km to and from the workplace.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at not more than two sittings.
The passes should include Sinhala or Tamil Language and at least two Credit passes.
At least five subjects should have been passed at one sitting.

🚘 Driving Licence & Experience

Applicants must possess a valid driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic covering the vehicle classes specified in the official notice.
The required driving licence should have been obtained at least three years before recruitment.
Applicants should have a good knowledge of road rules and traffic signs.
A minimum of three years' experience as a driver after obtaining the licence is required.
Driving experience should be supported by an acceptable experience certificate.

Applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Age should be between 18 and 45 years as at the closing date, subject to the exemptions mentioned in the official notice.

Applications are invited from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for three vacancies at the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (SLAB). SLAB is the National Accreditation Authority of Sri Lanka established under Act No. 32 of 2005.

The available positions are Secretary to the Chairman and Director, Management Assistant (Non-Technological), and Driver. Applicants should carefully read the relevant official advertisement before applying.

01 Vacancy | Contract Basis

1. Secretary to the Chairman and Director

Qualifications

A recognized degree approved by the University Grants Commission in Public Management, Human Resource Management, Management, Commerce or Arts;
OR a Diploma or Higher Diploma relevant to a Personal Assistant position from an institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, with three years of relevant experience.

Age Limit

Applicants should be between 22 and 45 years of age.

Appointment

The appointment will initially be offered on a one-year contract. It may be renewed at the discretion of the institution, subject to satisfactory performance.

Salary

JM 1-1-2025: Rs. 72,650 + Rs. 17,800 = Rs. 90,450, subject to the conditions stated in the official notice. EPF and ETF benefits are available.

Selection Method

A written competitive examination and/or structured interview.

2. Management Assistant (Non-Technological)

Qualifications for External Applicants

Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. O/L Examination in one sitting, with credit passes in four subjects including Sinhala or Tamil, English Language and Mathematics.
Passed three subjects, excluding the General Paper, at the G.C.E. A/L Examination in one sitting in the Science, Mathematics, Technology or Commerce stream.
Completed a six-month Certificate Course in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.

Qualifications for Internal Applicants

The O/L qualifications mentioned in the official notice;
At least five years of satisfactory service in an eligible permanent primary-level post;
A six-month Certificate Course in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.

Age Limit

Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age. The upper age limit does not apply to internal applicants.

Salary

MA 1-2-2025: Rs. 46,220 - Rs. 84,350, subject to the salary conditions mentioned in the official advertisement.

Selection Method

A written competitive examination and/or structured interview.

3. Driver

Qualifications for External Applicants

Passed six subjects at the G.C.E. O/L Examination with at least two credit passes, within a maximum of two sittings.
A valid licence issued for driving heavy vehicles.
At least three years of driving experience obtained after receiving the driving licence.

Qualifications for Internal Applicants

A valid heavy-vehicle driving licence;
At least three years of driving experience after obtaining the licence;
At least five years of satisfactory service in a Primary Unskilled (PL1) post.

Age Limit

Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age. The upper age limit does not apply to internal applicants.

Salary and Benefits

PL 3-2025: Rs. 43,280 - Rs. 67,040, plus approved allowances. Benefits include EPF, ETF and eligibility for Agrahara medical insurance.

Selection Method

A trade test and a structured interview.

1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation operates Sri Lanka’s pioneering emergency and pre-hospital care ambulance service under the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.

The foundation carries out its life-saving mission through 322 ambulances operating islandwide.

The Board of Management invites applications from suitably qualified, energetic and dynamic individuals for the following positions.

Available Vacancies

1. Emergency Medical Technician – EMT

Open to male and female applicants.
Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
Three passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in any stream, preferably in the Bio Science stream.
Applicants with NVQ Level 4 in a health-related field may also apply.
Minimum “S” pass in English at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.
Basic Information Technology knowledge.
Additional language proficiency will be an advantage.
Previous experience in Emergency Medical Services will be an added advantage.
Minimum height for males: 5 feet 4 inches.
Minimum height for females: 5 feet 2 inches.
Body Mass Index must be between 18.5 and 27.

Training and Service Requirement:
Selected candidates must complete a diploma course conducted by the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation in collaboration with a university. Candidates must serve the foundation for at least three years after completing the course.

All applicants must successfully pass a physical fitness test.

2. Pilot – Ambulance Driver

Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
G.C.E. Ordinary Level with passes in six subjects.
A valid heavy vehicle driving licence.
Minimum two years of work experience in a reputed organization.
Good communication skills in Sinhala or Tamil.
English language knowledge will be an added advantage.
Minimum height: 5 feet 2 inches.
Body Mass Index must be between 18.5 and 27.
Visual acuity must be between 20/20 and 20/30.

All applicants must successfully pass an aptitude test.

3. Emergency Medical Dispatcher – EMD

Applicants must be below 35 years of age.
Three passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in any stream.
Good communication skills in Sinhala and Tamil.
English language proficiency and Information Technology literacy will be added advantages.

All applicants must successfully pass an aptitude test.

Basic Qualification:

Experience:
Three years of experience as a diver in a government institution or recognised private-sector institution.

Applicants should have knowledge of machinery used in tugs or dredgers and must be able to swim and dive.

Driver – Water Barges

Service Category:
Semi-Skilled – 10.3 (SS3)

Basic Qualification:
G.C.E. O/L in six subjects, including Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

A certificate for operating machinery of not less than 250 horsepower issued by the Director General of Merchant Shipping is required.

Experience:
Three years of experience as a Water Barge Driver in a relevant institution.

Digger Driver

Service Category:
Semi-Skilled – 10.3 (SS3)

Basic Qualification:
G.C.E. O/L in six subjects, including Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

A Crane Operating Certificate issued by the government, a recognised institution or an NVQ Level 3 certificate is required.

Experience:
Three years of experience as a Digger Driver or in a similar post.
