The Ministry of Health and Mass Media invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for vacancies at the Programme Coordination Office established for the Asian Development Bank-financed programme on Strengthening Integrated Health Care and Governance for Universal Health Coverage.

The programme will operate from 2025 to 2030 and focuses on improving integrated secondary healthcare services, strengthening the prevention and control of communicable diseases and future pandemics, and improving health sector governance.

General Employment Information

Deputy Programme Director

• Number of vacancies: 01
• Salary category: Category B
• Applicant should be below 64 years at the time of recruitment.
• Relevant degrees include MBBS or BDS from a recognised university.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications include MSc in Medical Administration or Community Medicine.
• Additional qualifications in project management, public procurement, monitoring and evaluation will be useful.
• Experience in foreign-financed development projects is required according to the conditions stated in the advertisement.
• English and Sinhala or Tamil communication skills and computer/data analysis skills are expected.

Internal Auditor

• Number of vacancies: 01
• Employment: Contract basis and full-time
• Applicant should be below 64 years at the time of recruitment.
• Applicants must possess the academic, professional and experience requirements specified under the relevant Department of Management Services circular.
• Previous internal audit experience in the health sector or a foreign-financed development project will be an added advantage.
• Strong English and Sinhala or Tamil communication skills are required.
• Computer, spreadsheet and data-analysis skills will be advantageous.

Programme Officer – Governance and Engineering

• Number of vacancies: 01
• Salary category: Category F
• Employment: Contract basis and full-time
• A recognised bachelor’s degree or an accepted NVQ Level 5 or higher qualification with the required experience is expected.
• Qualifications relating to project management, public procurement, business administration or monitoring and evaluation will be advantageous.
• Experience in the government, health sector or a foreign-financed development project will be an added advantage.
• Good English and Sinhala or Tamil communication and computer skills are expected.

Office Assistant

• Number of vacancies: 02
• Employment: Contract basis and full-time
• Applicant should be below 64 years at the time of recruitment.
• Passed G.C.E. O/L in six subjects with four credit passes, including English and Sinhala or Tamil language.
• Passing the G.C.E. A/L examination will be an added advantage.
• A computer literacy certificate will be an added advantage.
• Previous government-sector, health-sector or foreign-funded project experience will be advantageous.
• Communication skills and computer literacy are required.
