Applications are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment to 04 Driver Grade III vacancies in the Department of Probation and Child Care Services – Western Province.

🎓 Educational Qualifications

• Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at not more than two sittings.
• The passes should include Sinhala or Tamil Language and at least two Credit passes.
• At least five subjects should have been passed at one sitting.

🚘 Driving Licence & Experience

• Applicants must possess a valid driving licence issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic covering the vehicle classes specified in the official notice.
• The required driving licence should have been obtained at least three years before recruitment.
• Applicants should have a good knowledge of road rules and traffic signs.
• A minimum of three years' experience as a driver after obtaining the licence is required.
• Driving experience should be supported by an acceptable experience certificate.

✅ Other Important Requirements

• Applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Age should be between 18 and 45 years as at the closing date, subject to the exemptions mentioned in the official notice.
• Applicants should have been permanent residents of the Western Province for at least three years immediately before the closing date.
• Applicants should be of excellent character.
• Minimum required height is 5 feet.
• Applicants should be physically fit for both day and night duties and possess adequate eyesight.

Salary will be paid in accordance with the applicable government salary circular and schedule stated in the official recruitment notice.

📝 Selection Method

Recruitment will be made through a professional / competency examination followed by a general interview.

🚦 Road Rules Maximum Marks: 40 Pass Mark: 20

🔧 Basic Motor Mechanics Maximum Marks: 20 Pass Mark: 10

The general interview is mainly used to verify whether applicants have fulfilled the required basic qualifications.
