📢 Vacancy Announcement
The National Institute of Social Development (NISD), under the Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the following positions.
The vacancies were published in the Government Gazette dated 02 October 2026.

1️⃣ Administrative Officer – 01 Post
Age Limit
22–45 years on the closing date. The upper age limit does not apply to internal applicants.
Educational Qualifications
External Applicants: A UGC-recognized degree in one of the following fields:
- Human Resource Management
- Commerce
- Public Administration
- Public Management
- Management
Internal Applicants: Must satisfy the external qualifications or have at least five years of satisfactory service in a relevant Grade II Management Assistant (Non-Technical), MA 1 position.

2️⃣ English Instructor – 02 Posts
Age Limit
22–45 years on the closing date. The upper age limit does not apply to internal applicants.
Educational Qualifications
External applicants must satisfy one of the following qualification routes:
- A UGC-recognized Bachelor's Degree in Teaching of English or English Language.
- Relevant NVQ Level 6 or higher qualification with five years of relevant experience as specified in the Gazette.
- Relevant NVQ Level 5 or higher qualification with ten years of relevant experience as specified in the Gazette.
Internal applicants must satisfy the specified external qualifications.
Salary Details
📋 Selection Procedure
Applicants will be selected through a structured interview based on merit.
- Additional relevant experience – 30 marks
- Additional relevant qualifications – 30 marks
- Other skills and achievements – 15 marks
- Performance at the interview – 25 marks
Total: 100 Marks
📝 General Employment Conditions
- Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens.
- Applicants must possess the required physical and mental fitness.
- They must be willing to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- EPF contributions will apply according to government-approved rates.
- Appointments are subject to a three-year probationary period.
