Applications are invited for the recruitment to the post of Legal Officer (Grade III) at the Eastern Provincial Governor’s Secretariat. Qualified Attorneys-at-Law with an LLB degree and professional experience are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to permanent residents of the Eastern Province. Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the vacant post of Legal Officer (Grade III) at the Eastern Provincial Governor’s Secretariat.

General Information
- Preference will be given to applicants who are permanent residents of the Eastern Province.
- Selected candidates must complete a mandatory service period of 10 years within the Eastern Province.
- This is a permanent government position.
- Applicants currently serving in State or Provincial Public Service must apply through the respective Head of Department.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Must possess excellent moral character and be physically and mentally fit.
- Applicants should be between 21 and 40 years of age as at 22 May 2026.
- Must be an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
- Must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- Must have a minimum of 03 years active professional experience after enrollment as an Attorney-at-Law.
- All qualifications should be fully completed before the closing date.
Selection Process
- Recruitment will be conducted through a structured interview.
- Selection will be based on merit order according to marks obtained at the interview.
- The interview board will be appointed by the Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission.
- If selected, current government employees should obtain release approval from the Head of Department.
- Applications submitted without departmental consent will be considered as new appointments.
