📢 Official Appointment Notice 2026

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has invited applications from qualified Grade I officers of the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators' Service (SLTES) for appointments to vacant positions at National Colleges of Education and Teacher Training Colleges.

The appointments are made in accordance with the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators' Service Minute published in Extraordinary Gazette No. 1925/37 dated 28 July 2015 and subsequent amendments.

• President – National College of Education (NCOE)
• Vice President – National College of Education (NCOE)
• Principal – Teacher Training College

Vacancies are listed by institution and medium of instruction in Schedule I of the official notice.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators' Service.
• Must have passed the Third Efficiency Bar (EB) Examination.
• Must have completed five years of active and satisfactory service immediately preceding the date of the notice.
• All qualifications must be completed by the application closing date.

📝 Selection Procedure

Selection will be based on a structured interview conducted by an appointed interview board. Candidates must obtain at least 35 marks to be considered for appointment.

Appointments are also subject to merit, institutional preferences, service requirements and the relevant recommendations.

Refer to Schedule II for the detailed allocation of marks and supporting evidence required.
