💼 Water Board Job Vacancies 2026

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board, under the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Water Supply, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the Kundasale Haragama Water Supply Project.

Applications are invited for engineering and engineering assistant positions on a project contract basis.

🎓 Qualifications – Engineers

Applicants for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineer positions must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission in the relevant field.
• Associate Membership or a similar professional qualification from a recognized professional body in the relevant field.

🎓 Qualifications – Engineering Assistant (Civil)

Applicants must satisfy one of the following qualification pathways:

• Option 1: Relevant Bachelor's Degree or UGC-recognized equivalent qualification, or an accepted NVQ Level 7 qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Option 2: Relevant NVQ Level 6 qualification with at least 3 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
• Option 3: Relevant NVQ Level 5 qualification with at least 6 years of experience in the required area of specialization.

NVQ certificates must be issued by a technical or vocational training institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

📌 Age Limit and Contract Period

Age Limit: Below 64 years as at the closing date.

Appointment: Initially on a one-year contract, renewable annually subject to satisfactory performance appraisal.

Selection: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Selection will be based on interview performance.
