Lanka Mineral Sands Limited, a wholly government-owned company under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, invites applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for vacancies available at its Pulmoddai Plant.

Qualifications – Electrician

External Applicants

• Should have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects in not more than two sittings, including two credit passes.
• Should possess a relevant Certificate of Proficiency at not less than National Vocational Qualification NVQ Level 4, issued by a recognized technical or vocational training institution.

Internal Applicants

• Employees in the relevant primary service category with at least five years of experience in the electrical field and the required trade-test or NVQ qualification may apply.
• Alternatively, applicants may possess a relevant NVQ Level 4 qualification recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

Qualifications – Other Positions

Applicants for the positions of Labourer, Security Guard, Storeman and Office Aide should have sat for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.

Applicants should also possess the physical and mental fitness required to perform the duties assigned to the relevant position.

Allowances and Benefits

Allowances

• Cost-of-living allowance of Rs. 17,800, as approved by the Treasury.
• Monthly food allowance based on daily attendance.
• Monthly attendance incentive based on daily attendance.
• Monthly transport allowance of Rs. 1,800, as approved by the Treasury.

Benefits

• Insurance coverage for surgery, hospitalization and outpatient treatment.
• Medical, external treatment and dental-treatment reimbursements, subject to applicable limits.
• Medical allowances provided under the institution’s internal medical scheme.
• Employee contribution of 10% to EPF and institution contribution of 15%.
• Institution contribution of 3% to the Employees’ Trust Fund.

Age Limit and General Conditions

• Applicants should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age.
• The maximum age limit will not apply to eligible internal applicants.
• Every applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
• Applicants should be willing to serve in any part of the island.
• Applicants should possess an excellent character.
• A police report may be required.
• Only applicants who satisfy the required qualifications will be called for recruitment procedures.
• Income tax will be deducted from the total earnings of selected applicants where applicable.
