📘 GCE O/L Subject Structure

The GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination consists of 9 subjects in total:

  • 6 Compulsory Subjects

  • 3 Optional Subjects, selected from the approved subject groups.

Students must carefully choose their optional subjects according to the official subject grouping guidelines.


🎓 GCE A/L Subject Structure

For the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination, students are required to select 3 subjects from the approved subject list.

However, subject selection must be done carefully because:

  • Certain higher education courses require specific subject combinations.

  • Students must follow the official selection guidelines when choosing their three subjects.


🎨 Special Note – Arts Stream (Bucket Subjects)

In the Arts Stream, there are designated Bucket Subjects.
Students must follow the prescribed subject selection rules when choosing combinations within this stream.
