Application for Kalabhushana State Awards Ceremony – 2025

Applications are now being accepted for the Kalabhushana State Award Ceremony - 2025, which is organized annually by the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Cultural Affairs with the objective of appreciating and honoring senior Sri Lankan artists with State recognition

Artists who have not yet submitted applications to the respective Cultural Affairs Officer and who wish to apply for the Kalabhushana Award may submit their applications if they are 60 years of age or older as of 31st December 2025.

Admission Requirements

At least three (03) passes in all three approved subjects in one sitting at G.C.E (A/L) in any stream [Candidates who sat the G.C.E A/L in the year 2023 or before], where a minimum mark of 30% in the Common General Test.

Those who are having SLQF Level-2 (Advanced Certificate (G.C.E A/L or equivalent))

AND

Six passes including Tamil / Sinhala Language, English Language and a credit (C) pass in Mathematics in the G.C.E (O/L) examination, not exceeding two sittings.
The applicants are required to pass the Selection Test.

Note :

The Medium of instruction of the above Programme is English.
The programme will only be conducted at the minimum number of enrolments.
