Recruitment Overview

The Eastern Provincial Public Service Commission has invited online applications for recruitment to Grade III of the Colonization Officer Service in the Land Administration Department of the Eastern Province. Recruitment will be conducted through separate Open and Limited Competitive Examinations, based on provincial merit.

Open Competitive Examination - 13 Vacancies

Who may apply?

• Sri Lankan citizens who satisfy the prescribed character, health and Eastern Province residency conditions.
• Age: Not less than 18 years and not more than 30 years on the closing date.
• G.C.E. O/L: Pass six subjects in one sitting, with credit passes in the relevant language, Science, Mathematics and one other subject.
• G.C.E. A/L: Pass three subjects in one sitting in the Biological Science, Mathematics or Technology stream, including two prescribed science/agriculture-related subjects.
• Professional qualification: A recognized two-year Diploma in Agriculture or an accepted equivalent qualification, as specified in the notice.

Service condition: Appointees must be willing to serve anywhere in the Eastern Province and complete the compulsory service period stated in the notice.

Limited Competitive Examination - 6 Vacancies

Who may apply?

• Eligible officers already serving in the Eastern Provincial Public Service.
• The appointment must be permanent, with the required satisfactory and active service period certified by the Head of Department.
• Age: No maximum age limit applies to Limited recruitment.
• Education: G.C.E. O/L pass in six subjects within not more than two sittings, with credit passes in the relevant language, Science and Mathematics.
• Professional qualification: A recognized two-year Diploma in Agriculture or an accepted equivalent qualification.
• Experience: The prescribed permanent, active and satisfactory service experience must be completed as detailed in the official notice.

Applications from serving officers must be submitted through the Head of Department with the required recommendation and release consent.

Written Examination

• Intelligence Test: 100 marks - 1 hour
• Subject-related Technical Test: 100 marks - 2 hours
• Pass mark: 40% for each paper
• Proposed examination cities: Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara and Kalmunai
