Legal Officer Vacancy 2026 – Full Details
The Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the post of Legal Officer attached to the Wakf Board of Sri Lanka. The appointment will be made on a full-time contract basis.

🎓 Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have been sworn in as an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
💼 Working Experience
- Applicants must possess at least one year of active legal practice or professional legal experience after enrolment as an Attorney-at-Law.
✅ Other Qualifications
- Proficiency in written and spoken Sinhala, Tamil and English.
- Sound proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Wakf Act of Sri Lanka will be an added advantage.
🎂 Age Limit
Applicants should be not less than 21 years and not more than 45 years of age on the closing date of applications.
💰 Salary
According to Public Administration Circular 10/2025 SL-1, the basic salary is stated as Rs. 82,150 (2027), together with applicable allowances and EPF/ETF.
📌 Appointment Conditions
The appointment will initially be for a period of one year and may be renewed subject to performance and departmental requirements.
General Conditions
- Applicant must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post.
- Must possess excellent character.

- MS Office යෙදුම් පිළිබඳ හොඳ දැනුමක් තිබිය යුතුය.
- ශ්රී ලංකා වක්ෆ් පනත පිළිබඳ දැනුම අමතර සුදුසුකමක් වේ.
