Applications are invited for several contract-based vacancies in the Vehicle Emission Testing Programme Unit of the Department of Motor Traffic, Sri Lanka.

Assistant Director (Communications) – Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Special or General Degree with Mass Communication as a subject from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, together with a postgraduate degree or diploma of at least one year in a field related to Communication.
Applicants should also have completed 10 years of satisfactory and efficient service as a Media Officer, Information Officer or Development Officer in the media division of a Ministry, Department or government-affiliated institution.
Assistant Director (Research) – Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a field related to Research, Statistics, Environmental Science or Environmental Management, together with a postgraduate degree or postgraduate diploma of at least one year in a relevant field.
A minimum of 10 years of satisfactory and efficient service in a research-related position in environmental management, transport management or vehicle emissions is also required.
Management Assistant – Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Passed G.C.E. O/L in six subjects with credit passes in four subjects including Sinhala/Tamil, English and Mathematics.
- Passed all required subjects at one sitting of the G.C.E. A/L Examination, excluding the General Common Test and English.
- Completed a Diploma in Computer Literacy (MS Office) from a recognized vocational training institution.
The maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants.
Nature of Appointment
All appointments will initially be made on a contract basis for six months.
Salary / Monthly Allowance
- Assistant Director – Communications / Research: Rs. 74,438 + Rs. 17,800
- Management Assistant: Rs. 46,010 + Rs. 17,800
