Considering the prevailing severe weather conditions, all schools located in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya Districts will remain closed on Tuesday, 04 August 2026.
The decision was announced by the Secretary of Education of the Central Province.
This precautionary measure has been taken to ensure the safety of students, teachers and school staff due to heavy rainfall, flooding and the risk of landslides affecting several areas.
