THE Minute of the Sri Lanka Principals Service published in the Gazette Extraordinary No. 1885/31 dated 22.10.2014 of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as amended by the Gazettes Extraordinary mentioned in Part I below is amended as following Part II. The other terms and conditions therein remain unchanged.

Children's Day National Week

01st of October is considered as the "World Children's Day" by many countries including Sri Lanka. It has been planned to implement a series of national programmes on the world children's day under the theme "Aadarayen Surakinna - Apata Lowa Dinannata" (Protect Us with Love - To Win the World) combined with all the institutions acting for the betterment of the children under the guidance of the Ministry of Women's and Child Affairs as well as the organizing of the Department of Probation and Child Protection Services.

The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to the resolution furnished by the Minister of Women and Children's Affairs to declare a "Children's Day National Week" including the national commemoration ceremony commenced from 25.09.2025 and runs up to 01.10.2025 parallel to the national commemoration programme of the world children's day.
