Apprentice Pharmacist Registration - 2025


The Sri Lanka Medical Council hereby informs that the online interview slots will be opened from 2nd October 2025 to 31st December 2025 for Apprentice Pharmacists registrations.

Further, all applicants are requested to go through the updated qualifications, additional requirements and be present at the SLMC office on the allotted interview slots without fail.

Required Qualifications 
  • Be a Sri Lankan citizen. 
  • Be of good character. 
  • Have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) or an equivalent examination, including English. 
  • Have passed the G.C.E. (A/L) or an equivalent examination in one sitting, in three subjects, with Chemistry and at least two of the following: Biology, Botany, Physics, Zoology, Agriculture, or another biological science subject acceptable to the Council

Applications are invited for the Master of Education Programme from Open University of Sri Lanka.

Duration - 1 Year

Course Fee - 150 000

Application Period
01.11.2025 - 15.12.2025

Requirements 
  • A pass in the Degree of Bachelor of Education of at least three years’ duration from The Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university
    • with a minimum GPA of 2.70, and
    • including at least B Grade for any two (02) of the courses: Educational Psychology, Foundations of Education, Educational Measurement & Evaluation, or any equivalent courses or,
  • A pass in a Bachelor’s degree of at least three years’ duration in any discipline and a subsequently awarded Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs in Education (PGDSNE) or Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management (PGDELM) from The Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university
    • with a minimum GPA of 2.70, and
    • including at least B Grade for any two (02) of the courses: Educational Psychology, Foundations of Education, Educational Measurement & Evaluation, or any equivalent courses, or,
  • For those who have PGDE or B.Ed. certificates without indicating the GPA value,
    • a Merit or Distinction Pass in the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Programme or minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme from The Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized University, and
    • including at least B Grade for any two (02) of the courses: Educational Psychology, Foundations of Education, Educational Measurement & Evaluation or any equivalent courses, or,
  • For those who have been exempted from Level 5 in the Degree of Bachelor of Education Honours in Natural Sciences from The Open University of Sri Lanka, a pass in the said degree programme
    • with a minimum GPV of 2.70 at Level 6, and
    • including at least B Grades for the two courses Psychology of the Adolescent, and Educational Measurement & Evaluation, or,
  • an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate of the OUSL

Skill tests for Japan's Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) are conducted in Sri Lanka by the Japanese government. The skill test is scheduled to be held at the Australian College of Business and Technology (ACBT) institute located at No. 32C, Dr. Lester James Peiris Mawatha, Dickmans Road, Colombo 05, selected by Japan on the following dates in October 2025 mentioned in the website prometric - http://ac.prometric-jp.com/testlist/ssw/index.html


Those who wish to apply for this skill test should follow the instructions given below before applying for it.

  • Before applying, you must prepare an email address.
  • In order to appear for the skill test, it is mandatory for you to prepare a Prometric ID, and for that you must visit the website http://ac.prometric-jp.com/testlist/ssw/index.html and follow the instructions.
  • Exam fees can be paid by Visa Card only. (When paying exam fees, payment can be made with someone else's Visa Card.)
  • After registration, the Japanese government will send you the exam center and its address to your e-mail address.
